NEW ALBUM(S) MADE IN SWITZERLAND!!!!

It could be. Hiring a dj to remix an old track and update the sound so as to make it a new single. But why do that if he's recording new songs? If he's doing that at all. This article raises more questions than it answers. Like, shouldn't this be in the music&more forum?

NEW ALBUM (S) MADE IN SWITZERLAND!!

biggrin biggrin Prince and the love for Switzerland

The search for a Swiss DJ

Apparently it liked megastar Prince very well here in Switzerland. After his gig at Hallenstadion last month, he enjoyed a long period of his stay in the chocolate nation. He left it to not only go well, but was too busy in the studio and was looking for his next project after a DJ. This fact should make his next production a little electronic. And as the Prince entourage stayed just in Switzerland, came the label of DJ Jamie Lewis Purple Music, fairly high up in the internet search.
Swiss DJ remixing allowed three albums by Prince!

After a long session the case was clear: The Swiss may produce from Prince's next three albums each of the remixes. The sound will go in the direction of house and funk, Jamie Lewis is responsible for the club versions. Moreover, his label for the next Prince productions responsible. Which probably results in that the singer often with us will be our guest.
The productions are very soon going on!

Jamie Lewis will soon be traveling to Minneapolis to screw in Prince's studio at the upcoming single "Dance 4 Me". The album will be expected next year. Interesting story in the end: "Prince gave us not as digital files as usual, but a tape of old school," says the Winterthur to 20 minutes.
Purple Music?

Purple Music was founded in 1997 by Jamie Lewis and his wife Manuela de Pasquale. For years, the club DJ travels from one world to another, such as. Nikki Beach Miami, Pacha Moscow, Dubai and Barasti Beach Supper Club Amsterdam, to name a few. According to him, the DJ is much more recognized abroad and asked for autographs, as in his homeland. Ausserrdem led to the jet-DJ for 17 years, the record store, "Dee Jay Service" in Winterthur.

Sounds like a hoax to me, but if this really happens it could perhaps be interesting, depending on the qualities of this producer (and Prince) of course.

Jamie Lewis will soon travel to Minneapolis to meet with Prince and work with him.

''It's a dream come true, we still can hardly believe it!" Arnold Meyer, responsible for promotion Purple Music , does not hide his delight in telling us the scoop: Prince has signed for three out next album on the label of Swiss house, established in 1997 by DJ Jamie Lewis and his wife, Manuela de Pasquale.

During his visit to Zurich in August, the author of "Purple Rain" remained in Switzerland a few days after his concert at the Hallenstadion. He worked in a local studo and asked its management to find a label for its future output.

Good SEO Google

"As they were in Switzerland Purple Music topped the pages in the search engine on their computer," explains Jamie Lewis. DJ funk of his past and the impressive catalog of the label (over 400 titles including Cerrone, Imagination and Jocelyn Brown) have won the American star who wants to give a direction more "club" to his music.

Prince's entourage then attempted to contact by telephone Purple Music with offices in Winterthur without success. And for good reason, the DJ and his wife were on holiday abroad. Manuela received an email from the management of the star who asked him his mobile number as the office did not answer. Thinking first of spam, it still sent his contact, without much hope. A few days later, the Prince met the managers responsible for the Germanic label. And after four hours of discussions, the contracts were signed.

A first single in November

"Prince is currently recording in his studio in Minneapolis, the new songs blend funk and house, said Arnold Meyer. We have already received the first two singles, "Dance 4 Me", scheduled for November and "2 Nite that will follow." On the latter, Prince invited his protégé, singer and model, Bria Valente. The first of three albums released next year.

At the request of the kid, its output will be available worldwide in digital as well as vinyl. On each single, Jamie Lewis remix songs from Prince.

And financial side? The Alemanni acknowledge that they have paid an advance in Prince but refuse to disclose the amount. "It's top secret! We do not communicate about it, "they say.

BTW. I think this topic should move to the Music and more. cuz it's about the music.

LOL. this is such bullshit?

Hmm. i would say, if the first single would be called something else than dance 4 me, it would be more realistic.

But Prince is so crazy, anything can happen...

A little correction: the article talks about a single "2Nite" that will follow. So far it seems to be about remixing old tracks. And the folks here who say P should work wirh a producer are finally getting their way? Personally I have no great need for house mixes of tracks that I never liked that much to begin with.

Prince Strikes Distribution Deal For “Dance” Remixes

Prince Photo: Alberto Ugolini. DrFunkenberry Exclusive

Prince Photo: Alberto Ugolini. DrFunkenberry Exclusive

What started off as a rumor I was emailed about regarding Prince signing a 3 album record deal turned out to be false.

However, an interesting distribution deal is happening. For those wishing for new Prince music though, you might be disappointed.

I reached out to the label "Purple Music" started in the 90's by Jamie Lewis. His inspiration for naming the label "Purple Music" was because purple was his favorite color, and he was watching the movie "Purple Rain" at the time. Lewis has "Purple Music" dance parties all the time, but are not Prince related. The label is located in Switzerland and specializes in House and club music.

Prince and "Purple Music" struck a deal to release and distribute "Dance 4 Me"(Originally from his 2009 #2 Billboard album "Lotusflow3r" and "MPLSound") as a single release also including the David Alexander remixes of the song.

The label is also working on new remixes to complete a new package.

The label wanted to make sure that everyone knows this is not the new Prince label nor did they sign a 3 album deal with him. The article that posted that earlier today was completely wrong.

"Purple Music" will also distribute "2nite" by Bria Valente (a song featured on her Elixer CD that came with Prince's 2009 Lotusflow3r collection) and credits Bria as a Prince protegé, background vocalist for Usher, as well as a singer and model. There will be a few mixes of the song as well but nothing further they can say at this time.

I want to thank Manuela Berter of "Purple Music" for getting back to us quickly and providing detailed information about the deal.

It is not exactly a new practice to re-release a single a couple of years after a song appeared on an album or was originally released. It has been some time though since it has been done.

We always liked the song "Dance 4 Me" and felt it was a shame a video was never made for the song. Perhaps this time, maybe a video will accompany this release, although two years later.-DocFB

Well, judgement is in the eye of the beholder. He's not the worst DJ that inhabits the world, however, would certainly not be my first choice.

About the screwing there cannot be any misunderstaning or dispute about taste. Andy is above those kind of mundaine details.

Isn't House music "passé" by now?

I mean, I love me some House (I'm an 80's/early 90's guy) but I haven't heard house on the radio in ages.
