what's the deal with camera's for Malahide?

Was wondering if anyone going to saturdays concert was taking a camera with them? It states no cameras in the do's and don'ts...

I will be out in Dublin all day and then on to Malahide in the evening so my camera will be with me all day..

Will I still get in with it and does anyone have the right to confiscate it or refuse admission????

Thanks

That camera warning is usually on the back of tickets in the small print and is normally something they turn a blind eye too. However, going from my experience seeing Prince in the o2, it seems like he really enforces it and security were on alert all night. That being said, there seems to be quite a lot of photos coming out of these European dates recently so maybe he's relaxed a bit.

I'm taking my old digital camera with me cus I don't really mind if it gets taken off me, but if it comes to that I might offer for them to take my batteries and leave me with my camera. OF course, if yours is an SLR it might be more of a problem. The one time I did get an SLR taken off me, they gave me a wee raffle ticket thing to identify it again at the end.

If I remember correctly, at the O2, you had to surrender your camera and they gave you a ticket for collection. I'll have my phone, so will use that. smile

Why are people that bothered about taking in cameras - surely in the press the following day there will be plenty of (much better) photos to commemorate? I'm not being facetious or stuffy I just don't get it, fumbling around with my camera takes me out of the moment. Have nothing in your hands & get funky!

EDIT: Of course if you have a camera on your person because you've been out all day with it & have nowhere to deposit it, understandable.
