why does he keep playing The Time songs!! Now he added Chocolate!!?? Cmon Prince. Let the Time be the Time and quit fucking with them just because you want the world to know that you wrote them. Its sad that he is that jealous of Morris. He is really trying hard to be him
That's why reports always say "he played some The Time songs", instead of "he played some songs he wrote for The Time". He probably just likes them to get a party going.
He's trying to be Morris? LOL |

Well, I did know... After seeing the W2A NY and LA gigs and this festival/Eurotour and them being labeled as a hits deal (by his crew) it was pretty obvious...
And like I said my girlfriend like these kind of shows so I only go for her and because it doesn't cost me a dime...
So, let's get this straight, you've traveled to see Prince from the East to West Coast in the U.S. and now you're in Europe and you've seen a few of those shows too....yet the primary reason you're attending is because your girlfriend likes the "hits" aspect of these shows?
But you think the shows are crappy? You speak with someone(s) in the band and attend aftershows as well? I think you're just pulling some legg..... You're entertaining.

From Telegraaf.nl:
"Het eerste uur raast voorbij. Prince haalt publiek op het podium, speelt voor het eerst in tijden weer eens Let's Work, doet een dansje tijdens Kiss -er wordt zelfs een spagaat gesignaleerd, hoe lang is dat geleden? "
Can anyone confirm this?
I don't believe it because it's from The Telegraaf.
Lets work for the first time in ages? Yeah right. He played it in Arnhem in november 2010 as well. |

@Dandeeland. Shouldn't the question be why does/did the Time keep playing these Prince songs?
is that what's it's come to, for real?

Cloreen Bacon Skin, Chocolate, Cold Coffee & Cocaine, Irresistable Bitch, Cool...
Prince had a persona inspired by his father and his friends talking man talk in the living room or something. This led to his broken voice dont give a fuck james brown/george clinton voice. Probably also some Morris. I don't really think Morris was alone the brain of his own persona in The Time. I think this is humor him and prince made up together. Tricky sounds just like Cloreen Bacon Skin, or is it the other way around? Cloreen Bacon Skin is 15 min long and sounds more complete than Tricky. both Chocolate and Cool is 100% prince imo. So why can't he do them? They're some of his coolest party songs. |

Neversin, don't worry about these people. They still live in a world where Prince can do no wrong. They can't admit that sometimes Prince has an off night and that his hits sets have been boring for years. I wonder how many bands they see live besides Prince?
Now this is what I call narrowminded. Please don't accuse me of not having a objective opinion on Prince shows. I have seen many other artists perform, big names and smaller ones; U2, Pink Floyd, Madonna, MJ, Santana, Bowie, Tina Turner, David Byrne, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, just to name a view. i think most of us never said Neversin could not express his feelings over the show. It was in what context it was brought if you read correctly. I would never claim a show is good when it wasn't (read my posts over the first NSJ show for example). IMO this one was very good. So I have every right to post my positive review and question Neversin's negative one. That doesn't automatically make me live in a world where Prince can do no wrong. |

Awesome report Tremolina! It was very interesting to read and I enjoy reading all details (like I did in my Arnhem report, see page 12of http://prince.org/msg/12/...&pg=12 ).It all brings back good memories this W2A Euro show, as well that rarity of GOLD. That reminds me of 199FIVE The Ultimate Live Experience. TAFKAP. GRAZIE for the lively report and I'm convinced you had a tremendous night!
Thank you too guys! I sure had a terrific night. And I bet the vast majority of people did. Was just checking some of the vids and yeah... wonderful! |

"only Gold"? What about Chocolate and Let's Work?
....
Although the break before The Bird took too long - but the man needed to finish his sandwich and had to discuss with the band what was left for the Dutch audience of which some had already heard 78 different tracks in the recent shows in the Netherlands...
Still when he came back he made me ROTFLMYAO speaking through a megaphone "You're still here? They told us you'were going home, so we packed our stuff and went too!" That just made me laugh - oh sorry of course he did that already 15 times before this year.... so lame of Prince. Luckily I only attended the 6 shows in the Netherlands and thought that was just funny.
I have never heard Prince say anything like that and find it very humorous!! Nice when he jokes around like that! Thanks for sharing this. I like hearing little details like these about the shows!
this will make quite a lot of people feel sick but there was another funny little moment. during take me with U, Prince usually says ''thank you'' as a joke after the line ''to be around you is o so right, your sheer perfection''. This time however he gave Andy the opportunity to say ''thank you''. Really tacky yet very funny at the moment |

as a belgian fan, I saw him in antwerp in november 2010. I wanted to feel the vibe of a concert in holland, at the same venue of the legendary dvd "SOTT". I thought the dutch crowd would be amazing and the concert very special. certainly after watching the setlists of the 2 concerts he did in amsterdam the night before. but to be honest, I liked the belgian concert better. the setlist was better, the sound was better, the atmosphere was better. the crowd left very soon (even all the standing people left the venue very quickly); in antwerp the crowd stayed for several minutes and prince came back every time making it a show of more than 2 1/2 hours. I'm glad I watched the show in rotterdam, but I have to stay I'm gonna stick to antwerp in the future. no better sound and atmosphere as the belgian one.
I missed the trumpets more than I did in antwerp. I loved his version of "forever in my life" (with the bass-duel at the end) and with the amazing guitar solos he made me forget that there weren't any trumpets. maybe he did amazing solos in rotterdam, but with the bad sound I really didn't notice that well. even his version of "cool" seemed less inspirated there than it did in antwerp. but not due to prince, he probably did it with the same attitude, but with the bad sound it wasn't very noticeable.
