What's with that old lady hair wrap? From this angle, that looks like one of my 60 year old aunties. The Little Richard-wrap is cool, but THAT isn't.
One thing Prince has usually always been sharp with are his clothes, but lately.....

He was having a bad hair day or then he was afraid of getting throwed eggs and tomatoes on him due to earlier cancellations

I was there (near catwalk), as well and the sound was good. So, I don't know where those complaints about the louzy mix are coming. Considering it was Hartwall Arena, which has always poor acoustic, it sounded reasonable well. Some problems were at the beginning, but what a heck...
Even I personally know every released Prince song, for Finland the set list was a good one. Enough hits and party jams works here. I have never seen audience at Hartwall dancing their asses off as eagerly they did last thursday.
It could have been 4 hour concert, but in those conditions it would have been too risky. People were already past out before the gig was even started. Heat was enourmous at the floor and there were a lot of kids, as well. Trust me, it didn't sound very good at the seat I was in... I've been to about a dozen concerts at that arena, and the side seats (which is about 1/2 of the arena) always seem to have poorest sound.
It was a good setlist, and I would personally have enjoyed it a lot more if the sound was decent and it wasn't so damn hot & humid. It felt like 40 degrees up there, and that's just too much... I can't really blame people for leaving after 100 minutes when the house lights were turned on.

Wow, I'm still on a purple cloud. I had so much fun on Thursday: met really nice fans while waiting in line, danced and screamed like crazy and I was among those lucky ones, who got on stage at the end of concert. I'll remember that night forever.
I had a really good place against the catwalk fence and the sound was good there. The setlist was also nice (i got to hear mountains and the love we make live). Of course I had much more on my wish list, but it was very understandable that he concentrated on his hits.
Have to say, that the audience was great. It maked me feel so good, when I realized that almost all were standing, when 1999 started. I think he got new fans, since the response has been extremely postive. My two friends, who are not very familiar with his production, have been listening his songs after the concert and they were very impressed with his performance. They expected to see a cold diva on stage, but his presence, expressions and moves melted their hearts. And I bet they are not the only ones thinking differently of him after the concert. Nobody can flirt with the audience like he does.
I kind of liked his outfit, but it would have been nice, if he had changed it during the evening as he usually does. I had a feeling, that he came here a bit unprepared (and too late: only 5 h before the concert). Maybe he wasn't expecting much from that evening, but we proved him wrong. It's not audiences fault, if he decides not to come back ever again...but I think Finland won't be in his black list anymore.
Please Prince come back, we want more - we need more!

I love this pic set and love the his style changes that are so uniquely O( > His musical direction and the electricity he radiates and we receiveis not able to be contained or described in a set list because his performances, concerts and live shows are wonderfully eclectic, current and wonderfully laced with hits makes his shows a total O( > experience... hard to encapsulate in a set listing only ...Love his musical direction. He is the best in his or almost any genre when he comes alive on a stage He is still and always will be still the ONE. From bass to transitioning to acoustic sets to joy of Prince on a piano is still the bomb and by the way did I mention he is still fine...ahhh sorry I digress (but he is ) live and on CD he still has the juice...so go on Prince and be inspired and keep blessin 'em!!! PS...thanks for the pics. Appreciate the time U took to post them. May be this will soothe my need for my Prince fix...stay hot, tight, looking and sounding...amazing Was it good 4 U?
Was I what U wanted me 2 B? If it's not alright...it will B Because...even when I lose...I win

For me, the Helsinki gig was a way better than his ACTII in Stockholm(1993). Lovesexy was my first Prince concert, so it's not comparable. "Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have morals or virtues that one does not truly possess or practice."

The concert was great! I enjoyed all of it and will certainly go again if he decides to come I could barely walk afterwards, too much dancing haha. I took some pics as well, you can find a selection from them in here: https://picasaweb.google....sinki2011#
