So far, half of the songs have been sung by someone else than Prince.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the European shows always get more "little gems" and rarities from Prince than the US does? I can't wait to hear some of the soundboard recordings (ahem) of these shows! Fantastic!

I don't think so because he's sung many of those rarities on that
setlist before at shows in his own country,

Er.........the problem being freedom of speech?

Why does it bother you that Pasi points this out?

Wouldn't mind at all. I guess, there will be quite a lot of hits, because of the first visit in Finland.

You DO realise your own statement here makes itself completely meaningless?

There is a short, positive review of this concert in Italian and a few videos up on a fan blog called "NIGA:

http://simoneniga.wordpress.com/

Here's my approximate translation of the Italian:

"A concert that will always remain in the memories of Perugians, like the show with Sting and Gil Evans' orchestra in 1987, Miles Davis in 1985 or Springsteen's show or Bob Dylan's concert some years ago."

These are the first comments after Prince's concert yesterday that enchanted Perugia, at the Umbria Jazz Festival. "Today Prince is a free artist: extraordinarly free to move with complete authority, in all types of music from the last 30 years. And so the concerto was a vulcano of inventions, improvisations, and continuous variations: of rhythm, mood and chords. Well, 75 euro - but Prince and his musicians deserved all of it."

More than three hours of concert, where Prince played his great hits and some classic covers. A magical show that the 7,000 spectators will remember for years.

(End review)

A few of my friends from Perugia went ('m in the US now and couldn't) I'll add their comments, once I've heard back from them.

It's Finland. Still 5 more days. Lots of things can happen in 5 days.
