Dionne Warwick. Song is composed by Burt Bacharach "Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have morals or virtues that one does not truly possess or practice."

Thank you... then it's the same song Dusty Springfield recorded... and (according to wikipedia) Susanna Hoffs... Bobbie Womack... Marvin Gaye... Gladys Knight etc...

Just to get things straight:
Pass the Peas: Maceo leading, no Prince on stage The Look Of Love: Andy Allo, no Prince at all People Pleaser: Andy Allo, w/Prince entering at the end, playing guitar Make You Feel My Love: all the ladies a capella, no Prince
It's been a superb show, loved the setlist... but a rather short gig for Prince.

It was a great show!!!! He had fun! I think the setlist was good, but nothing can top the NSJ weekend. (saturday and sunday, because friday wasn't that good) Glad we didn't get 2 hear 2 many covers. It was short yes, but you know what. He just did a week full of gigs. And I think he is a routine from the last days so that's why he might play a short list and some of the same songs, I think it will be different in Finland next week. Longer show I guess.
I loved the show, and I enjoyed very much. It was great! [Edited 7/14/11 2:02am]

So you went to the concert and you only liked 6 of the 19 songs performed?
Very sorry to hear that, I'll be quite happy to have those same 19 songs tomorrow in Perugia. Prince is a musician not a lifestyle.

Loved the show too but it definately was too short. The night before the concert, I saw the Lopez show with Prince on Youtube and wondered about this 25$ thing I didn't understand... You really were lucky then, because I payed slightly over 300€ for 2 tickets in the golden circle... Especially liked Sth in the water does not compute...and Maceo Parker My son (15) plays the saxophon too and we were amazed... How could we miss his concert at the Philharmony last year. That won't happen again...

Did anyone noticed the terrible sound qality? I got a place in the first row right on the right side in front of keyboards. No pure guitar sounds, no clear voices of the singers, only the soft ones. Cant hear the audience, it was too much noise from the boxes. Setlist was exellent, so wished to hear the concert in ex quality so much. Prince performed rather routined, with no special funky mood. It wasnt really bad, but i missed a magic and inspired prince. I dont know the reason, maybe the crowd was too lazy. In general, i'm dissapointed, had seen much better shows.

Duh. Get farther back near the sweet spot. Most of the times that is in front of the sound board.... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

"I Like it There"?? Wow! When's the last time he played a Chaos & Disorder track? Just when you think he's forgotten some of his recent gems, he pulls 'em back out!
That's right, it's a gem.

I must say that to me the whole Chaos & Disorder album has become better and better over the years, unlike many of his other nineties and noughties albums... RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

A copy of my review from the other Luxemburg!! thread:
Returned back home after spending maybe a 1000 EUR and 48 hours on this Prince adventure – and for what?
I made it to almost front row close to the piano which – as pointed out by Lefreck – he didn’t touch! WTF? A bad bad choice in my opinion!
Correct me if I'm wrong fellow Luxembourg orgers, but it seemed to me that the concert had a lot of rock-ish tunes, and some of those he rarely plays – or at least some I hadn’t heard live before. The setlist seemed more like an aftershow than a concert, which was fine by me. I got a music experience different from what probably could have been.
The sound level was way too high! Especially on Maceo’s sax! I’m curious how it sounded further back, but in the front it was dangerously high! I had something to protect my ears, but of course it also takes some of the fine nuances to the music. It’s really a pity the sound has to be so high at concerts...
The flow of the concert was not doing it for me. Too many abrupt moments with the audience finally getting into it, then Prince says ’thank u, good nite’, the band leaves the stage, and then they come back again throwing in some more rock, and the audience has to get back in gear again. Maybe it’s just me, but I couldn’t feel the crazyness among the audience enough to pull off this leave/come back thing. It ruined my flow of the experience. And on a side note: Even the two great classics like Nothing Compares 2 U and Purple Rain were kind of medium to me and I had images of drunk-on-beer-football-singing-fans when the crowd sang along. I liked it though when they shot those purple/gold canons, that was cool!
Andy Allo: She is receiving mixed criticism here on the org. She’s cute, she can sing, dance and smile, and surely brings energy to the stage and to Prince (great chemistry! ). But is she sharp enough as a musician in the band? I’m not convinced yet.
A highlight of the evening was the duo in Something in the water does not compute with Cassandra O’Neal on gospel/jazz flavored keys. At this point – because of the high sound level and the constant rock feeling – I needed to hear something a bit more soft and slow tempo. Without Renato in the current line-up (and I LOVE Renato!), it was a nice surprise to hear Cassandra and discover how much – and what a difference – she adds to the band. She had a good shine! And I hope Prince will listen some more to what she has to say on the keys.
Another highlight was the solo between Maceo and Prince during (was it) Peach (?). That was just super cool! And the band was jumping up and down afterwards – double cool!
And a third highlight was Ida’s nice melodic bass solo (can’t remember which song). She's never striked me as Prince’s most funky bass player, but she has a softness and humbleness that comes across on the more softer songs, and it sure did on this solo.
All in all a pretty mixed evening for me. I wasn’t over the top with this concert, but I did get to hear some of the rare stuff and also got to witness some of the musicians from a new perspective. Despite the high sound level (which was the most annoying part of the evening for me) the concert was still a refreshing encounter… And I’m still looking forward to the August dates in Copenhagen.
Peace!

Sort of agree with girl7's review.
The show had its highlights and special moments, and Prince seemed genuinely in a nice mood, but the atmosphere just didn't "click". There were some tensions in the audience, already on the queue and also once in, and it just didn't feel too well. Everybody wants to be front row, I know, but safety, respect and manners come first. I might sound silly, but believe that really makes a difference!
Also - the show was probably shortened at last minute. Can't see the reason, as it was quite early and people were definetely ready for MORE. But I think it actually ended abruptly as the crew came out to the stage and took away all the set lists for prince the band, that certainly looked strange to me.

And I still find it strange that no one played the purple piano, especially after that dude who sat there for almost an hour playing, listening, etc. before the show started... I can't help thinking that piano was meant for a break-it-down intimate moment with Prince and a couple of songs (I'm still hoping to hear A Case of U someday... yesterday would have been perfect ) Oh, blue light...

GREAT PICTURES, WOW! So damn cute in the second one. I love the way the npg team is dressed these days. Thanx for posting. Sure looks like it was a fun party in Luxembourg.

Chaos & Disorder was fine from the start. Not perfect, but can't believe that it and Lotus Flow3r are not better respected. Maybe if Prince didn't have 10 billion albums, and only had say...15...would they stand out.

Hey, look at lettertype of "Prince" on Andy's clothing !!! Lettertype during PurpleRain album/area. Funny. I like Prince has always created/used different lettertypes each album, funny old lettertype being used on clothing now, or is that a 1984 pants Prince wore back in tha dayz
