Cool, it seems he's more or less sticking to the gems of North Sea Jazz.

According to @stijntjemijn on twitter he's played Calhoun square and Dreamer now. smile

First reports on songs played hint at a NSJ style setlist. Great for diehards.

He played that song countless times over the years. Nothing special, but nonetheless a great song.

Cool, but although I never knew he played that song in the past, I was more or less referring to right now. The song is special in its own way, because it is a classic and brings back memories of the great/late Curtis Mayfield and some turbulent times in Ameriica back then. To each their own though. biggrin

Yawn! So different than I have imagined it to be. I guess some people here were right...yawn! Udo made some predictions on that...and he was right!

Hmm, setlist doesn't seem all that bad, calhoun square/dreamer/i like it there...those 3 alone would make my evening satisfying enough already. And if he was on fire and there's some chemistry with the crowd then it could have been a beautiful night. I hope Luxembourg had a blast!

I'm eager to know:

a) a full set list

b) how was the sound and lighting?

c) ...show in general

I happened to be on vacation in Europe and after catching a bunch of the Forum show, went to this one. It made me appreciate the Forum audience and in the round set up. Audience was pretty tepid in its response until the very end, when they did that European soccer cheer/singing thing to bring Prince back.

Venue is unusual. It's a big empty warehouse, just a big square box. Totally flat floor completely GA, with a front "golden circle" section that is also GA. Unless you are close or tall probably very hard to see. Place was oversold and spillover was watching from the lobby. Even golden circle section had spillover on the sides. Sound was comparable to the Forum. Cool modern looking venue though.

Lights / visuals were much more simple. They did the purple rain confetti cannons from within the crowd and on stage and they blew for longer - so that was different.

I thought Prince was dialing it in but then seemed to catch fire toward the end of the show. I was disappointed to here the same medleys, clipped 1999, etc.

Encore (after house lights had come on) of Johnny B Goode was smokin'. Large portion of the audience kept asking for more but the crew started tearing stuff down.

Be thankful if you saw him in LA. That had WAY more magic in so many ways. All the tickets here were $150 as far as I know as well, so those $25 evenings.....well, we were very lucky.

It sounds very yawn to me but obviously this is my opinion. The best show so far was the last day in NSJ and Ghent.

Looks like P wanted to go to Luxembourg to spend some $$$. Didn't one of his entourage just said it was a good place to go shopping! Disappointed!

Prince I will always miss and love U.

Thanks. I hope, it gets better on the next week when he's coming to Finland. After 5 earlier cancellation, show better be excellent or else lol

However, I believe that it had a stricter entry rules, i mean with just few thousand people very likely no cameras were allowed, one of the reasons why not a bloody one person tweeted about the concert, very odd!

Can't wait to read what people have to say!! razz
