kids at prince concert (Gent) Hi, I'm thinking of taking my daughter (11 years) at the concert in Gent. As i'm a big fan since many years she should see the best live artist on stage. Are there any orgers that will do the same ? Maybe we could meet.....

wouldn't you rather take her to a gig where she can sit? How tall is she? With everybody standing it is really not nice as a small person in such a big crowd + you don't see a thing. Take her to Rotterdam or Cologne instead.

You are not crazy.... Last year I promised my two girls (8 and 9 years old) to take them to a Prince concert, in case he came around again to Denmark.. and luckily enough he comes back again (after 3 concerts last year - we are are a very lucky Prince country..).
So I have booked 3 tickets. The event in Denmark is a NPG Festival, where you could buy a Lounge Expierence Ticket, where you have "Seating at the VIP tribune with a view of the stage ". Normally I would have stayed on the floor, standing and close to the scene, but with the girls I belive its nice to have a seat, especially since I think the festival is an all day event.
They are very excited about it, and we are going to have a fantastic summer, listing to all kind of Prince music...
So far I only have experienced friendly audience at Prince concerts, so bringing your daughter on the floor might even secure you a place in first row, because people are so nice and happy...
Enjoy your concert.. [Edited 6/22/11 0:14am]

thank you, i would have preferred seated places to, but in Gent it's only standing. Would be a shame not going, it's only 30 minutes from my house... A prince concert is always great...

If you do this, and you have the type of kids that have the patience to wait a few hours before the start: no problem.
If you have annoying brats who cry about food, drinks, legs that hurt: leave them at home. Or drown them in the pool, but that's not for me to decide.

I think I saw your daughter in the Golden Circle - actually I saw two little girls wearing a too large white Prince T-shirt. I guess there was no children's tarive ?

We were in the golden circle and she really enjoyed the show. People around us even made place so she could dance..... I'm glad we did it, so she could see the 'Hero' of her dad The last 45 minutes were difficult for her as she's only 11 but it's an experience she'll never forget. Tomorrow we are going to Rotterdam, but without her... Thanks for asking people, this was real music by real musicians
