Nice review pal, it seems poland welcomed prince in a very enthusiastic way. What was the attendance? I guess the venue was pretty packed.

I saw Prince for the first time last year in Berlin but, believe me, that was NOTIHNG compared to what Prince did yesterday in Poland! It was UNBELIEVEABLE!

Before the show, I was a little scared that Poles won't understand that the most shining star in the whole universe has just come to visit them (us). But... I'm shocked, but in a positive way! Though in Poland Prince is not known very much, the audience went totally, absolutely CRAZY. And I mean it. Like PsychoCowboy said: 'But the audience was crazy about Prince and Prince was crazy about audience.' and that's the truth!

Prince looked fabulous, he was in a great shape, he was dancing his ass off and I really hope he will visit us again because I think he fell in love with the polish audience smile

And, btw... I got a stick from John Blackwell!! <3 And he gave it to me himself! I also took a picture with him, I had actually the best time in my life yesterday and I'm looking forward for another Prince's concert in Poland!!

In God we trust.

And do Prince came to Poland - for the first time ever in this part of Europe.

So here some few impressions from a very harcore fan of him.

First that really astonished me: he's back in the 80's again.... Believe it or not, I've heard literally all tunes from Purple Rain including the title track he said he wouldn't perform anymore as nothing more can be squezed out of this piece after those million times sang. Well, this million and one was not different. Undoubtedly masterpiece, sang and played as we know it. Punto. The crowd went crazy, of course, but the hardcore fan said "oh no..." silently to himself. So 80% of the solid 2hrs show was Purple Rain plus some 1999, Lovesexy and occasionally Sign Of the Times plus Controversy (that was, however, ruling). As said, the crowd of folks in their 30s and 40s went totally crazy but to me that was a bit of dissapointment. I really enjoyed his evolution into jazzy areas so present on One Nite Alone, Chocolate Invasion an on and was so hungry for that. I only got some cherries on the big creamy 80's cake including the introductory Laydown, Rollercoaster and Play That Funky Music White Boy.

I wonder if this is some new approach based on 80's being back in fashion, special thing for not-that-up-t-date-generally audience of Eastern Europe or something else. I wonder how it goes in UK and further. Looking forward to other reviews.

Then another surprise - no horns at all. These can add atmosphere tremendously to the show. I missed them a lot but surprisingly (or not) Prince made it very well without them.

Still another surprise - I recognized no one from the band. Hm. Maybe I am not that hardcore then...

Saying all the above I assume we all here are quite hardcore and aware Price is an excellent performer. And so the show was truly excellent.

According to Shelby's FB there were 68 thousand people smile Personally, I think it may be truth, because at the beggining of the show it was REALLY hard to breathe neutral Too many people!

And I have top add something about Prince's mood. It was unbelievably good! He was joking, laughing all the time, it was obvious that he was having fun!

For me, the cutest part was when he was singing 'Sometimes it snows in april' and he sang it "sometimes it snows in april, sometimes it rains in Poland too' smile He's too fine!!

After seeing him in ONA tour in Stockholm and in London 4 years ago (+ the aftershow) I can say that he played a good show and was enjoying himself and the crowd. The setlist was safe, but it was a good choice for a festival crowd in Eastern Europe, where they even didn’t sell his records during the 80s and there must be much less hardcore fans than in US or Western Europe. Of course I would have loved to hear 17 Days or something from the 90s, but I’m not complaining – I enjoyed the show very much!

Comparing to ONA and 21 nights shows he didn’t have horns, but that wasn’t an issue. He was FUNKY! I was surprised that he actually played When Doves Cry almost entirely and I was extremely happy to hear Sometimes it Snows in April and Love Bizarre LIVE for the first time!

He did do sexy dancer (well lefreak/ 20eleven craze etc) after controversy. He stopped and said do you want more? And then came sexy dancer.....this show was feckin amazing! Managed to meet John blackwell..don't know if it was mentioned but I heard him play dreamer in the sound check about 2:00pm which got me well psyched...then
Having laydown as an opener sent me into hysteria...phenomenal gig. Prince was on fire. Security was pretty shit hot (at least by the front for photos). Can't wait for Rotterdam B)

http://princevault.com/in...July,_2011 this is the right setlist smile

We came 6 hours before the show and there were already some people waiting. 1st row was already taken by fans. To be honest, I was afraid that there aren't many Prince fans and I was wrong... There are plenty of Prince fans and they have their forum where they post about Prince very actively. I absolutely enjoyed every second of the show, Prince was in a really good mood, he was dancing, running and he did 4 encores!!! During encores it was so amazing to hear how much he is appreciated by Polish people. I think Prince enjoyed the crowd and he may be possibly visit them once again.

There's joy in repetition...

These Tshirts were specially designed and made for only about 40 Polish fans from the forum mentioned above. You won't buy them anywhere sad
