Can someone explain the "Music and ART-festival" thing? Is it about music being an art? In case, shouldn't it be "The NPG Art of Music-festival"...??! Or will there be art shown aswell?

Sorry, but the concept made me a bit confused... wink

Taking the cover art and lyrics of his last albums in condsideration one can only hope art means nothing else than music in this case.

maybe some ballet?

npgfestival.dk has been updated.

At this time it is only Prince who's listed in the artist lineup.

it appears that they'll write the playing time of each artist. (http://npgfestival.dk/artist-lineup/)

Great, a new official Prince website on the internet! The information page (http://npgfestival.dk/practical-information/) is particularly interesting:

"There are different categories available for the NPG Festival:

The standard ticket (550,- dkk)

These tickets provides access to the stage and stall area."
The standard ticket gives access to the stage!? Let alone what the other tickets have to offer:

The Purple VIP Lounge Experience (1275,- dkk)

"...Seating at the VIP tribune with a view of the stage..." a view on the stage, well, isn't that marvellous!

Prince is about the experience! Ask the simple question, when does the experience begin? It already did, way before this festival was announced. Expectations and understandings already exist. Don't mess with it negatively! Instead surprise us positively!

That’s right, a standard ticket gives you the chance to dance the night away on stage whenever u feel like it. It is one of those spontaneous moments when an artist invites audience members on stage and the whole audience enjoys the idea it could be them on the stage, the regular people, and completely forgets about the musical thrills they came for in the first place. But this time not only during an encore but during the whole Art-experience. It is just all about togetherness, of course the Purple VIP Lounge Experienced peoples rattle their jewellery cause they are supposed to fully appreciate their view on the stage and don’t participate.

NO! I just called ICO and apparently they are having an additional board meeting with the communication department of the NPG Music and Art Festival website on this topic. Denmark law prescribes the presence of a VIP toilet on stage also (not visible though for the audience) and is now looking into possibilities excluding standard ticket holders using this lavatory. Problem might be the Danish constitution which disapproves of such discrimination.

giggle no, I do particularly enjoy the stupidities of sales agents and marketing people in other countries where I don’t intend to buy tickets for. But my sympathy for the buyers is genuine and based on own frustrating experience

I just noticed this at the end of the info page at npgfestival.dk:

PLEASE NOTICE: No ticket categori provides access to inner circle.

It must have been added recently!? You think they are reading this site? An orger among the ICO/Prince camp!? If so, please let the the ticket sale site know it too, so they can update their info!

I am sure they do, and that they are not the only officials who do.
For reference, this was the complete text of the initial information page yesterday:

Practical information
Prince and The New Power Generation
The NPG Festival evolves from the Prince’s present world tour ‘Welcome to America’ which has been huge success in the USA with more than 250.000 visitors if you only count the Los Angeles concerts. In his own words Prince describes the tour and the NPG Festival as a historic event: “The festival will play host to real music by real musicians.”

Practical information
The questions can be many when you are visiting a festival. Here you will soon be able to find all practical information about the festival area, transportation, food & beverages etc.

TICKETS
There are different categories available for the NPG Festival:
The standard ticket (550,- dkk)
These tickets provides access to the stage and stall area.

The Purple VIP ticket (875,- dkk)
On top of the standard ticket possibilities, this ticket includes:
T-shirt
VIP Wristband
Access to VIP tent with bar (Beer, water, wine, champagne)
Access to VIP toilets
5 beer coupons
VIP entrance

The Purple VIP Lounge Experience (1275,- dkk)
Buffet
Welcome drink
T-shirt
VIP laminated pas
5 beer tickets
Seating at the VIP tribune with a view of the stage
Access to VIP tent with bar (Beer, water, wine, champagne)
Access to VIP toilets
5 beer coupons
VIP entrance
VIP wristband

Question remains: who does get entrance to the inner circle? ("PLEASE NOTICE: No ticket categori provides access to inner circle").
And it does not look very promising doesn't it when a new official Prince site is not able to inform customers clearly and without spelling mistakes? I am not saying I don't mistakes with the English language but then I don't pretend to be an official spokes medium for Prince. Even after the update of the info page it says:
- ...evolves from the Prince’s present world tour...
- ...which has been a huge success...
- Tickets provides access...
- ...a view of on the stage...
- No ticket categori category provides...

'...with more than 250.000 visitors if you only count the Los Angeles concerts.' Why only the LA Concerts? Where they to lazy to count the other ones?

lol almost right: according to the official information so far, nobody will be in the inner circle and all standard ticket holders will be on the stage. So more likely is that the band will play in the inner circle and standard ticket holders will have a view from the stage. And people who chose for the 'Purple VIP Lounge Experience' can watch the Danish countryside during the concert from the VIP tribune with a view of [OF!] the stage.

But then, it does not seem to matter that much what ticket you bought or buy since in Monday's official and internationally spread press release (also on the site) it says you can upgrade later. "It will be possible to upgrade your ticket to include different VIP experiences." And that on the other hand is customer friendly! Must be quite a logistic operation for the ticket sellers though, bravo!

ICO Concerts
June 20th 2011
Prince to Denmark with new music festival
20.06.2011 kl. 16.30
When Prince returns to Denmark 6th of august, it will be with a brand new festival concept –
NPG Music and Arts Festival from Prince and the New Power Generation.
The NPG Festival evolves from Prince’s present world tour ‘Welcome to America’ which has been a
huge success in the USA, with more than 250.000 visitors just counting the Los Angeles concerts.
In his own words Prince describes the tour and the NPG Festival as a historic event: “The festival
will play host to real music by real musicians.”
Several international artists will accompany Prince at ‘10-Oeren’, which is scenically placed by the
coast and the beach area, ‘Amager Strandpark’. The names will be revealed at www.npgfestival.dk.
During 2010 Prince played 3 concerts in Denmark at the Roskilde Festival, MCH and Forum where
he wowed fans and critics with his singular stage presence, leaving them screaming for more each
and every night. The reviewers were thrilled and made statements like
“Prince plowed his way through one hit after another” – 5 stars ***** Politiken
“Musical masterpieces” – 5 stars ***** BT
“Prince played himself closer to the Gods” 6 stars ****** Berlingske
It will be possible to upgrade your ticket to include different VIP experiences. This could for
example be an upgrade to “The Purple VIP Lounge Experience” that gives access to an ‘all purple
universe’ including seated concert viewing from VIP tribunes.
Prince
NPG Festival

Saturday. 6th of august
Ticket sales start: Monday 20th of June, 10 am

Oh no, don't worry! Because when your VIP tribune with a view of the stage (remind you: OF the stage, which means you do not get to see the stage at all) is launched into the purple universe you do not have to worry about that or anything anymore ever at all.

Yes! It's a joke that someone has hired someone who hasn't got a clue of how to service a - after all - quite homogenous group of Prince followers. What business school did these people attend?

I'm sorry, but to me it's just basic: Imagine yourself being the one having to decide among 3 types of tickets to your favorite artist's concert? What questions come to mind, when you are faced with this choice? Right! Then eliminate those questions before you press the SALE IS ON button...

Oh, blue light...

No worries at all, just amazement about how it is possible that a new official Prince activity on the web starts with such an amateurish approach.
