People dont know he's coming, does anyone know when this came about and when did the tickets going on sale, anyone know how many people the castle gig holds?

I'd be surprised if its as low as 350 as if you search on TM now the seats on sale are row N for Block A and row H for Block B. Each row has 86 seats. Plus the standing tickets sold.

But I am not surprised ticket sales are low. If i didn't visit the Org regularly I wouldn't even know he was playing in Dublin. Knowing how keen I am to see him perform, usually when he is coming on tour family and friends let me know when they hear about it. This time nobody has mentioned anything as nobody has seen any promotion! POD need to get their act together and quickly. Don't cancel on us P. neutral

It is impossible to know from the TM website how tickets are selling.

While I think it would be nice if P oplayed a great gig in Ireland, part of me would be pleased if the Irish fans showed him that a serious artist cannot fuck with his fans.

Still, for people who really want to go, I hope this goes ahead somewhere.

by "em" I guess you mean 5 or 6 million people?

Thanks.

Always loved the Welsh myself. By the way the Millennium Stadium is an awful place to see a gig.

Close the roof if you want, it's still shit.

Having scanned through about 5 of the weekend newspapers, I have not seen a single ad for the concert. I guess POD thought that having sold 56,000 tickets for Croke Park, a 35,000 arean would be no problem. But the Croker gig had massive print, TV, billboard campaigns and economic times and peope's attitutes were different then..

Judging by the seated tickets available on ticketmaster, and the fact that pit is still available suggests sluggish sales for sure. Moving it to a smaller venue may be a way of ensuring the gig is not cancelled. The O2 is available on July 30th but if the rumours of just 3,000 ticket sales are true then we are looking at the grand canal theatre which is free too.

within my circle of friends, family, work colleagues, i know just one other person going. I am going with my wife [ i bought her ticket ] and that makes three of us....

The only positive I see here is a move to smaller venue, no weather issues for sure...

what do other people think.

by the way, looking at stade de france thread,l situation there is worse sad

Why not?

It all depends on the deal.

Maybe the promotor will cancel, not P.

(assuming ticket sales remain bad)

True, if you dont listen to Today FM, then you wouldnt have a clue he is playing. I was also putting the slow sales down to price, and as i said in another post, annoucing 3-4 days before tickets go on sale, with a hefty price tag is a problem for a lot of people, I know plenty who want to go, but cant afford a ticket for at least another week (its the end of the month and alot of people dont get paid til the 31st!!). My friend who is a huge fan, didnt know about the concert at all, until I told her about it, and I heard about it through here - its just not out there!! POD wake up and get working!!

If Prince really could only sell 1% of tickets on the opening day, then I think the show could be in seriou trouble. Even with no advertising, the diehards have obviously vanished.

Finances, or Croke Park hangover, whatever the reason, trying to sell 34,000 tickets to casuals at 100 euro is a steep steep mountain.

Yeah, sounds like BS to me. I doubt the sales are stellar, the ticket prices are crazy, but 350?

Some idiot DJ has made a flippant comment and some other idiot has run with it.

The Croke Park number was after a few weeks of sales. Also, we're still wondering what the effects of the cri$i$ and the high ticket pricing will be...
