Birmingham to Ireland

At last after thinking over the last couple of weeks I've decided to take the plunge to go over to Dublin instead of Kent, cheaper and quicker. Is anyone going to be at Dublin airport to meet up and to get back to the airport afterwards getting the first flight from Bham on the Sat to return early Sunday morning, just going for the funk but an aftershow and a beer after the concert would be great !!!

Cool!

Are you sure you want to book the flight yet? I'd hate for it get cancelled.

According to Skyscanner.com, it's Ryanair. (skyscanner's a really good site for airfare shopping. Nice phone app too)

Tickets are unfortunately not so cheap. 100 euro in the pit standing (that's recessionary talk for 'gold circle'), 90 for standing further back and 130 euro for seats.

got the flight tickets through travelrepublic.co.uk, they do not show before you book only the flight number. Afer booked ryan air confirmed then, worth the risk, you will get your money back from ticketmaster if there is a problem so you only waste £28 if it does not happen, go to the concert, have a few drinks in the area and get a taxi back to the airport and wait for the flight home so no problem really.

A lot cheaper and a lot quicker than driving to kent and back and the beer and food is a lot nicer, well worth a go !!!

Anyone interesting in meeting up let me know..

I think McDonalds in Dublin Airport is open 24 hours if that's any help.

Just booked my tickets - not as cheap as yours!!! I paid £90 once all the taxes and charges were included - from manchester to Dublin return with Ryan Air.

I get into Dublin airport at 9am and fly home on sunday at 12.40.

I'd be happy to share taxis or whatever with anyone else travelling to and from airport...also keen to meet up with peeps for beers - my wife's not coming and my mates would not drop £250 to see Prince I'm afraid!

Also interested to hear where people are staying over - ive not booked accomodation so any ideas would be appreciated...preferably cheap and possibly close to Pod nightclub and train station!

Cheers

Exactly the same here !!

I reckon we meet up in thr airport around 10ish and take it from there, if there is a big enough group we could wait a bit longer and move on up into the village early to beat the crowds !!

Not bothering to stop as I've got the first plane back to Bham in the morning so if i go to the airport late on in the night I'm not bothered a lot easier than travelling to Kent and back !!!

Sounds good Macca, I will probably have to check into hotel in the morning at some point, but closer to the time we can make some solid plans and exhange mobile numbers if that's cool.

You've got me thinkin now, about the point of booking a hotel - the flight back first thing on Sunday was so much cheaper, I would save on accomodation costs, and if there is an aftershow then the timing would probs be perfect to get back to the airport for return journey. If there isn't an after show though, it would be a long wait for the morning flight...
