Website back up. I see it. No Golden Circle. Free standing in front of the stage. I would dearly love at least ONE European venue with fixed seating all the way up to the stage like at the O2 in London or The Forum... then we'd have time to leasurely explore the beautiful cities Prince is taking us to instead of spending most of the day queueing! sad

no gold circle tickets

no seats means more people.....

Fixed seating everywhere is very rare for European concerts. As long as I am not in the first 2 or 3 rows I try to avoid shows like that BTW. When I have a seat in the first row it is perfect though of course biggrin.

You can bring a chair. Or train a bit for standing.

Will you sit during a show?

Of course I will NOT sit for the show - not for a minute! Dancing all the way through!
I second your point earlier about not bothering at all if i can't get into the first 2 or 3 rows.
I can't be arsed (ha! excuse the pun)to bring a chair but I often sit down on the ground while queueing for hours. I guess I could bring a cushion. smile

I paid more than 100 Euro per ticket for the Berlin show last summer, and while I really enjoyed the show and the venue (Waldbühne), it was a huge letdown to see that so many people with much cheaper tickets were let in to the golden circle during the show. Some were even let in for free.

I don´t mind other people having a good time close to the stage but it is a bit unfair to charge people 110 Euros and then let all the other people come in for much less money or even for free.

He should be careful with the ticket prices if he doesn´t want to be faced with so many empty seats. Why charge so much money and have empty seats (and let people in for free or for a much cheaper price later on ) when you can just charge less from the get go and have a sold out show and happy fans?

I doubt I will go to the Cologne show because that venue sucks and the last Prince show I´ve seen there was one of his weakest shows I´ve ever seen. The aftershow was kinda okay but not one of his best either.

So he charges people 10 to 25 dollars in L.A and asks for 140 dollars in Berlin? For pretty much the same setlist and same show? After that ticket fiasco and far from sold out show last year? And it is still unclear whether he will do a show in Berlin or not?

Too many uncertainties as far as I´m concerned.

I agree. He should not charge that much, it is not fair that others pay much less or get in for free.

I payed about 140 Euros last year for the golden circle for the Vienna concert and they also let people inside the goden circle who had no tickets for it, but probably a much smaller number than in Berlin. And when they know the golden circle is not sold out why not make it smaller than it was planned so that it does not look empty, but that the people who payed for it are still in front of the others who did not? I don't get it.

But he hasn't so much enthusiastic fans here like in other european countries.

He didn't sell out the Frankfurter Festhalle on his ONA Tour in 2002. I was there, lots of free space left. On the other hand, he sold out the Arena in Oberhausen that year, but I guess that it had something to do with the fact that Oberhausen is closer to the netherlands than Frankfurt. wink

It would also help if he would do some promotion. He didn't have a hit here since a very long time, mainstream media ignores him, nobody really cares. If he would do a tv appearance, a press conference, or just SOMETHING it would help to boost sales.

err yes, but the shows in holland look more promising. Anyway, the stadium is already kinda sold out, it looks better than I imagined.

But those were the first three.
Cheapies (44 euros if you already had NSJ tickets) too.
But will not be full shows.
The 4th show was announced later. After Luxembourg etc.

No! It's not unfair that they let them in... with your 110 € ticket you had guaranteed access to golden circle... others with cheaper tickets hadn't.

Golden circles were initially added (in general, not at this Prince concert)... had to be added, because of security reasons (they didn't call them "golden" then). I think it has turned into a bad habit that certain bands and acts have started to sell extra tickets for those mandatory security zones. Because really, if you want to get to the front you still have to show up early and queue up, unless you're totally ruthless and push your way to the front.

That's the unfair thing... they they've introduced these tickets, not that they also let people with normal tickets in.

Weird view of reality that is.

That area in teh front was only accessible with expensive tickets.

Changing the rules, even after the concert has started, is not so nice.

And that's me putting it in subtle wordings.
