Purple PIT Questions

I ended up with pit tix for 2nite. Can any of you who have been in the Purple Pit give us some strategy? My wife is height challenged @ 4' 11" & I'm 5'9". That being said, I'm sure getting there early is wise so she can see. My guess is the best place to stand is over toward the "20's" loge so we can see the right arm of the glyph. Is that possible?

Beyond that, here are my questions:

Where do we line up/what entrance?

What time do they let the purple pit people in?

Is standing further back from the rail better than on it?

Anything else we should know about?

Our other option is seeing if any of you in the org want to trade us for your seats. Sorry, but no colonnade nosebleeds. These are hard stock tickets. Orgnote me if you would consider that.

I think Pit tickets give you access to the Forum Club before the show. You can enter the venue from the Club. Otherwise, if you go in the regular entrance ask an usher how to get to the floor. I got trapped a few times by going all the down the stairs only to find that particular section had no floor access.

I preferred standing far enough back that I could the big screens. I still could see Prince pretty good when he came to our area.

However, my favorite place to sit is in the Loge, around round F - J. You can see the stage, you can look at the big screen for close up views, and I think it sounds the best from there as well.

Loge is nice, but wasn't an option for us. Not really interested in the before show Forum Club.

It sounds like we can enter at any door then? Doors open at ? Any suggestions would be helpful because we are willing to invest some time waiting.

Doors usually open at 6:30. If you get there around 6 you should be good.

TAKE THE FORUM CLUB ENTRANCE! I say this because:

A) It's the path of least resistance

B) No lines for drinks (even non-alcoholic)

C) You HAVE to sit there and people watch. Crazy!!

As for the Pit itself, you have two choices:

A) Stand near the stage and see the singers and Prince once every ten to twenty minutes and no TV screens.

B) Stand back toward the organ and dance, see the screens and get a better overall view

C) Stand close for the beginning until Prince comes around there, get your Prince energy and then move back to watch the spectacle

Have a ball!

If you are physically (and mentally) prepared to stand in the same place for hours, I would suggest you find a spot closest to the left (facing the stage) and closest to the front and post there for the duration. If one of you needs to take a bathroom break, go to concessions, or just needs to sit down for a while, go to the back and sit in one of the chairs, while the other holds the spot. If you do want to go to get a drink or just sit down and chill for a minute, you'll be at the side closest to the Forum Club and it does offer a good break for weary feet. It's a very short walk, just go up between Sec 27 and Sec 28, walk up halfway and you're there. Keep in mind, the wristbands that they give you, will provide access until approximately 10:45pm.

I know you might think you don't care about the access, but standing up for 2 hours straight might change how you feel, so at least you have an option.
