Why is Security so Tight?

I've often wondered this over the years...

Why is security always so tight with Prince?

Other HUGE celebrities allow pictures, phones etc... WHY DOESN'T PRINCE?

Why does he video everything....including the audience?

Is he paranoid?

Is his security team paranoid?

Is he a voyeur?

Has Prince been threatened over the years?

Has someone actually tried to harm him in some way?

Does anyone know of any stories.....just curious? biggrin

I realize there are lots of unstable crazy people in the world.....just cannot imagine someone actually wanting to hurt Prince or his band members etc...

XOXO

Security got beside themselves last night! I pulled out my phone to respond to a text and got bombarded by 2 of them.
Next time you pull a card, it better be an ace, mothaf*cka, you could lay--face DOWN!

Wow, interesting post. Honestly I don't blame Prince for having tight security or attempting to controll leaks. First, his livelyhood is based not only on concerts but CD/Record sales; so its reasonable to expect him to take measures to ensure that fans buy his music.

Secondly, on the security front. I really don't blame him there either. I work in an institution where we are supposed to protect the public. But, with my own eyes, I have seen people be maligned, personally and professionally, stalked, harassed, lied on, set-up, privacy rights violated, conspired against and even criminal acts committed against them by high-ranking and low-ranking indviduals, with Badges and under the color of law, all of this because that person did not agree with or go along with something. In fact there is a person in our Institution who this is happening to right now. My point is, if Badges can do this with so much to lose, the average crazed individual could do no worse. Its only prudent to protect oneself.

He's very controlling over his own image being used. Even most members of the press were not allowed to shoot the standard first-three-songs on opening night.

Next time you want to use the words "Prince" and "why" in the same sentence, remember he's a dumbass and a dick. That should answer all your questions regarding Prince's actions from now on.

Thank you and good night.

lol i was thinking that 2, but im sure Prince just doesnt want anyone else trying 2 capture or sell his experience, he's like that no big deal 2 me. Plus security gaurds are always goin on freakin power trips, there looked at as low-budget cops

~wow...what a sad world we live in when the people who are supposed to be protecting others deliberately bring harm to those who have opinions and ideas that are different than theirs. eek

~this way of thinking does not seem logical to me and must be ultimately fear based....just as racism is....fear of losing "perceived" control. sooo sad and sooo wrong...... nuts

LayDownMisty

he has always been in control........that is why he got famous in the first place

I remember once, backstage - outside 3121 Empire Ballroom show - he got out of his limo and walked upstairs to go inside but stopped, turned around and took a picture of all of us standing in line waiting for him. Nobody took a picture of him. We were all on the same page. It was a great moment.

Plus, he had no makeup on and looked really really different and much older. You think he wants people to see photos of him like that? Nope!!

Prince - not black, not white........just COOL

Its actually gotten better over the years, I'm told; but there's a certain sense of "entitlement" involved, just like with racism.

...so does this example point to the fact that Prince could be a "do as I say, but not as I do" type of person?
