7pm: "Late Night Jam"
10pm: "Jazz Cafe"
Nice he's giving a heads-up on what to expect. |

Would anyone who went to the Troubadour shows describe the 7pm show at the Troubadour as the "Jazz Cafe" themed show, and the 11 pm show there as the "Late Night Jam" themed show? |

hope they sell these as non-transferrable tix. would hate to see scalpers get their mitts on these and shut us out of these shows.
since when does prince consider 7pm a late night show? i think it's a mix up. charity event at 7 perhaps? [Edited 5/23/11 22:36pm] |

I went to the 11pm show and it was definitely a jam-like show. When he stepped to the mic he said "I hope you like some rock n' roll".
I was outside waiting to get in while the 7pm show was going on. Definitely "Jazz Cafe". |

Calling the early Troub show "jazz cafe" really isn't accurate because it gives the impression that it was low-key, improvisational, endless noodling with no recognizable structure...jazzy, ethereal. That show rocked far harder than that although by comparison to the 11pm show, it would probably be describe as lower-keyed.
Having said all of that...for the sake of argument, I guess you COULD label the Troubadour shows in that manner...7pm jazzier-themed, 11pm harder rocking late night jam. |

Scalpers won't get involved with this. That's funny that the title of the 7pm show is late night. |

Did you (or anyone else) notice the auction tab for the Midnite "private charity event?" I never realized Ticketmaster had auctions. Is this in addition to the ticket or part of a silent auction type thing for the actual charity?
Consfused! |

Oh oh oh!!! If only I could go! I would gladly pay 800$ to witness all 3 concerts! Wauw!
Ps. What's the charity? Do we know what we support when we buy the ticket? Is it the Twinz' mother? Oh, blue light... |

The "auction" tab is a regular Ticketmaster thing. It's their way of "scalping" or letting folks participate in "after market" ticket sales. |

I haven't heard, but I also thought it might be for the Twinz' mother. |

You're right. But I've seen the Auction tab for other shows for sale on TM, not necessarily Prince shows. |

good luck to all who are trying. have a feeling, since this is ticketbastard, scalpers will get a hold of at least 50% of the tix, unfortunately. i hope, Hope, HOPE i'm wrong and they have some sort of plan of action, especially since they've given 'em a 12+ hour heads up. |

If it's anything like Lotusflower concerts, the smallest venue will sell out almost immediately. That's probably the show I want.
Sigh.
Oh well, I got to see him at the Troubadour. Can't be too greedy. |

yeah, thats kind of the way i'm looking at it. if i knew they were transferable, i'd try to get tix for an .orger or two, as i feel i have the ticketmaster system down to a science. |

Are we thinking it will be 3 separate locations like Lotusflower, or at a venue like the Wiltern where size of crowd can be adjusted to each show. |

Well tell me the science please, because when I got through 1 minute early the lady wouldn't just talk to me on the phone so it would be exactly noon when we tried! Made me hang up and call again, only to get through 15 minutes later! So do tell please...and are you going this time too? So for those not lucky enough to get in at least get a "live phish jam'? |
