Oh dear god please no, not Larry Graham and his tray of stay old graham crackers. Is this our torture for living in or near the bay area, Larry Graham playing everytime Prince plays. I still am holding out hope for a no opener, 270 minute Prince show with Sheila E.

Thanks for the heads-up on the San Jose shows. Both the Oakland and LA shows I've been to Larry Graham has played at. I was considering going to one SJ show but I'll save my money for the last 3 shows in LA. I am, however, going this evening to Fresno. Would like to know if anyone will be there opening or performing with Prince.

Just arrived in Fresno from LA - my spontaneous purple US vacation has turned into a road trip, lol!
Looking forward to tonight, whoever is opening! I've put my party clothes at the top of my suitcase - no need to unpack - I'm back on a train/bus tomorrow to San Jose!

I am! And no, lol - if you'd asked me before this week what Fresno was, I would have said maybe a deli chain or something At one point tonight Prince yelled, "Where are we?" and I thought, "I can't bloody remember!"
But now I'll never forget
Awesome show. No opening act - all Prince, all night. Ended earlier than the LA shows, so listening for whispers of an aftershow
His outfits tonight were brilliant and he was in a fun mood!
I'm sure someone will have a set list, I'll probably mess it up if I try, but I did notice that the medley had less songs this time with more of each one (almost all of WDC). Nice.
Thank you Prince and the NPG for another unforgettable night!
So worth the trip. Again and again.

I saw the Escovedo's on Lopez Tonight and George said that they are opening for P in San Jose. Sheila E was great at the LA show I attended so I am sure San Jose will show them love.

I was able to get general admission floor tickets at the last minute, so I just rocked out all night! Got pretty close to the front. I think this was the perfect show to be in the pit since he just played the hits and kept it pretty up tempo. Saw him in Inglewood on Saturday & had Loge seats, but he did more ballads and had more things going on, plus you could see the celebs in the house. My friend & I were able to get up pretty close and during the Housequake chant, I noticed no one was responding so I was shouting it as loud as I could. I actually got Liv Warfield's attention and she pointed at me in recognition & had this look like, "okay! You know!" That made my night besides seeing Prince so close. I know that will be the closest I will ever be to him. Definitely a night to remember. Thank-you, Prince for showing Fresno some love. I missed hearing Laydown though. lol "When words fail, music speaks..." --- Shakespeare

Damn! I've been waiting 10 shows for "The Beautiful Ones."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It didn't mean anything. His heart wasn't in it. He'll come crawling back to us.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
How the hell does he go to Fresno & sing Beautiful Ones!? I've been waiting for him to perform it in L.A. (has only occured 4/14 & I was not present)
Not sure wether I should be jealous or annoyed lol Maybe a bit of both. [Edited 5/19/11 9:17am] Next time you pull a card, it better be an ace, mothaf*cka, you could lay--face DOWN!

Great playlist! I'm jealous!

If the set list posted above is complete, then it is only 12 songs Prince really sang lead on. 13 if you count the usual lazy one verse version of Raspberry Beret. I would doubt he "sang most of When Doves Cry." Now, if the guy posting the set list forgot a few things, fine...but this looks like a lazy concert that wasn't long enough, unless you got the cheap seats.
