Can we throw in Oakland pics too? Or is it only LA?

That's an interesting question and I'll leave it to the Org to decide...I don't know that I have an issue with photos from Oakland or elsewhere being used. I don't see why it wouldn't be open to everyone on the site to participate in. We are focusing on the Forum because that's where we are now and where the concept originated...but if a cool shot existed from another city during the W2A tour I'm not seeing a reason to reject it. What do you guys think?

I think we should stay open on pix from Oakland/Fresno/San Jose, decide on a picture by picture quality basis that are sent in.....so I'm not against Oakland/other pix if there are good ones. I'm liking what you're doing so far though and I like that I'm familiar with the pix having been there and having seen most of them.

I recall some great photos from the Oakland shows being posted--particularly from the 2/23 show.

Yeah! I was at that show. I didn't take any great ones, but there are some really amazing black and white ones someone took. They posted a link to their flickr. account with lots of shots. I will try and find that person and make them aware of this project...

Nothing against Oakland/Fresno/San Jose/Sacto (were those truly 21 Nights in one city or part of an area run?) , but I'd vote to keep the focus on the Inglewood (LA) Forum shows. That makes it a salute to a cherished institution and landmark that may be in jeopardy instead of just "a Princey-poo nutt-hug" wink .

Keeping the focus narrow makes a good book better. There's some room for compromise, like a supplementary appendix cool

Hmmmmm, GOOD points about The Forum and GOOD idea about supplementary index. Like it. Thinking I might agree but want to stay open to everyone else's thoughts. (But ultimately, I don't even know if I care, I just want my "Princey-Poo Nutt Hug" book to drool over drool3 ) lol

Sounds like the consensus so far is yes, it's all right to include photos from other W2A shows (NYC, Oakland, etc) if they are of the same quality we have from the Forum engagement which generated the idea in the first place...but maybe have them in their own chapter. Sounds good to me.

What I'm doing now is communicating with the main folks who have contributed the majority of shots that influenced this and getting our specs correct to ensure the best quality for print. You may not get daily updates from me re every step for a few reasons...one is that there isn't always something new to report. Another is, the more underground we keep this now the better off we'll be down the line. Trust me on that. But you're in good hands...I'm confident everyone will be happy with what we eventually come up with. I will solicit input from you all as we get to those points requiring it.

Always feel free to contact me via Orgnote or email.

Shout out to my man Realtor for initiating the concept of an LA fan album. I just took that bull by the horns, so to speak, because I thought I had the knowledge, resources and experience to put something credible together...but it was his idea and I don't want to take away his shine for suggesting it. Show him some love, I'm sure he would appreciate it.

I agree with this sentiment completely. The 21 Nites in LA really deserves its own document.

Hot photo. I sent you an Org Note before reading your comment. Def interested in several of the photos you posted in the other thread. If you could upload the raw, uncompressed files to a site (YouSendIt, Photobucket, etc) and send me the links I can pull them down from there. Any questions, please send me a message either here on the Org or my email...btx109@aol.com. Thanks a lot!

Yes, GDB, the book almost has to have pics other than LA just due to dpad13's photos, I agree with you they are super hot.

I am in shock that you posted your e-mail....just brave considering....I'm just worried about you is all, hoping it all works out and you are able to get this done without getting in hot purple water! smile

I Org Noted u last night about my mediocre iPhone pix, but one is really weird/cool with Prince lit up like a Fire being from the lights and a red one lit up strange that might be cool to include as smaller pix. I will Photobucket you some pics and if it doesn't work I will send them e-mail.

And AGAIN THANK YOU!!!!! You rock. worship

Haven't done anything but communicate with some fans on a message board about some photos. Nothing wrong with that...but thanks and I agree, low key is the best approach.

I wuld be very intrigued with a book about the 21 nite gig in LA. To include other nights from other venues would water it down. Make a tour book if that is the goal, but documentation of the 21 night gig would be historic.

Count me in.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Well at first I was super excited about this. But then after a night's sleep and some morning meditation I realized I couldn't participate. Why? Because HE wouldn't like it and would be upset about it. I really enjoy and appreciate all of your posts, but I have decided that for myself as a fan of Prince I will respect his desires for privacy and control. I get why he is so "picky" about his work, his image, his legacy. Sure I get frustrated when websites come and go and concerts aren't announced until way too late and...etc. But he is his art and he is a true genius. I'm along on his ride and what a rollercoaster it is! Tension in so many ways - it wouldn't be the same if he was available like other entertainers are. The mystery is fantastic.

You've only been an Org member since April...and your first post is to announce that "...after a night's sleep and some morning meditation" you can't participate..? Was it necessary to introduce yourselt to the board by announcing that or could you have...I don't know...just moved on to something else..?

As we don't know you we would never have known about your conflict. But thanks for sharing.

I'm not a rude person. But I'm a stupid person either and I don't appreciate the veiled judgment and passive/aggressive finger wagging contained within your message. I guess my friend was correct in forewarning me about the negative energy that some would bring to this endeavor...one of the reasons why most of this will be going underground VERY shortly as if it's been forgotten.

So how about this...as this isn't a thread to debate, argue, discuss, share, vent, emote...this is an informational thread about something of interest to only those who are interested in it...if you aren't down or morally conflicted or need to meditate on it or WHATEVER else other than its intended purpose...how about we keep this zone free of those posts? But thanks for letting us know that you won't be participating.
