I think the org should take a collection and fund a Tour Book featuring pictures from AlwaysNmyHair86 and bronzefunk.

I am 100% serious. I'll make the first donation.

Too many of these photos are on a professional level and if everything is done with respect, I think Prince's camp will appreciate the gesture, despite the blatant contradiction of his wishes. The pictures are too good to waste.

I support this 100% as well. Maybe submit it to Prince's camp to get his approval and go from there?

I think a great album of the first half of the Stand could be created and then given to his camp, either before or at the end of Memorial Day weekend. Again, this is just my opinion, but I think we could help them both out with getting a few more shots to bring a balance and a theme to an album. Honestly, looking at what's been presented, there might be an opportunity for two separate albums.

OK, I'm stepping up to the plate on this one.

I am a professional illustrator and I've worked in publishing...comic books. design, storyboarrds. Whatever I don't know, I know some great graphic designers who can help fulfill my needs and objectives.

I'm offering to donate my time & services to quarterback a Prince.org project to create a commemorative album of the Los Angeles W2A tour. As a not-for-profit concept, the best way to do it would be to set up a PayPal account where people who want to participate can make donations to a) fund the project and b) contribute their $$$ for however many albums they want.

I can get some preliminary ideas down and get an estimate for how much it would cost. At that point we can get an idea for how much each album's suggested donation will be. For example, if it would cost $1,000 to print a hundred albums, and a hundred members were interested in one each contributor would need to donate at least ten dollars in order to receive it. Again, not for profit, not intended for resale.

These photos are too good to not have as a momento of what might go down as a historical run.

Thoughts?

First off let me say, it would be a dream to contribute photos to a project like this.

Secondly, the thing you mention that really resonates with me and is the reason why I have been taking photos is this feels like something historic is happening. Every time I go to the Forum, I see Prince doing his thing, his way and I can't get enough...

What next?

I'll set up a thread just for this subject...maybe sticky it..? I already have some ideas re layout, content, etc. That way all of the ideas and suggestions can be organized in one location for easier reference.

This photo is awesome! I am reminded of the sheer uniformed reverence shown for Stevie Wonder during this moment. The entire Forum was screaming, yet it was as if time and motion stood still--everyone's eyes were on Stevie, including the band; everyone stopped and just stood at attention. It was not choreographed or staged it was just pure admiration and amazement at the presence of his greatness.

I'm in. I think there should be a coordinator, which based on your post...looks like it would be you lol I think $10 is the perfect amount to start for donations; I'll donate $50. One way to get the involvement of the org is to maybe conduct polls in regards to which pictures we like the most and ALSO, what pictures members would like to be taken on May 27, 28, and 29. I know we (org members) disagree on a lot of things, but I think it's only fair to vote on our favorite photos because this online community represents the people that truly appreciate what Prince has done and his live performances.

I agree. I'm going to create a thread just for this...we can keep it here in the Concerts forum since that's where it began...I just communicated this to another friend who wanted to help but I'll repeat it now.

The project cannot be affiliated with Prince's name in any way, shape or form. It also cannot be affiliated with the term 21 Nite Stand. The glyph cannot be used as a font. The project can only work if it is created as an educational project only. It cannot be advertised. It is not being created for commercial sale. Any and all donations and contributions are solely for the purposes of printing, shipping, graphics and associated costs.

I'm not ready to set up an account and collect donations just yet. I want to communicate with the photographers to get a sense of what we have to work with re content and quantity. We also have (at least) nine shows left and I'm curious who else is going and if they're going to try to capture more images.

What I'm most interested in at this point is how many people would be interested in this and willing to put in for it. If it's ten of us, each one will cost a lot more to print than if we have a hundred or more people. There are print-on-demand services available now that would offset the costs somewhat though but I really want to make it as nice as possible while being economically viable for everyone to enjoy.

If there aren't any objections, consider me Official Gran Poobah of the Org photo documentary project. I'm open to suggestions, comments, contributions, etc.

I am down for whatever is legally possible; count me in. I will do my best to provide more pictures as the tour comes to an end. However I doubt I will try my luck 5/27 due to where I'll be seated (VIP A) I hear the security is overly anal in that area and rightfully so.

Again, Bronze, your photos are absolutely amazing!! Thank you all for the feedback & photos.

True, the security has become far more Draconian as the tour has progressed. I have witnessed people being snatched up and escorted from the venue, both at the Forum and the Troubadour. I have seen peoples' cameras get snatched, watched them be forced to delete photos & vid on the spot, watched memory cards get snatched. So BE CAREFUL. Some of these shots are amazingly beautiful but getting them is NOT worth your safety.

Totally agree! Getting a great photo is a dreadful task when dealing with this incredible man. The security gave me a total of 5 warnings on 3 diff. nights so now I'm sort of reluctant to bring my camera again. I'm thinking I can somehow disguise it (I'm crafty lol) but that will remain an ambiguous thought for now...

Needless to say this whole project has me excited & inspired to get you all better/quality photos...at first it was for my own personal memory but now it's bigger than that... & I'm here to tell ya, I will try my best.
