Prince, Stevie, Janelle, After Show, NYC, & North Sea.. (Posted in PM&M forum also in case orgers miss this)
So apparently it looks like he'll be in NYC on Monday, May 16th attending the opening of the ABT season at the Metropolitan Opera House. Pay attention to the pink, bolded part in the post below.

Wow, I would love to see/hear it. Love to see Prince jamming with Stevie. And I miss hearing Prince playing bass.

I was lucky enough to witness it all firsthand, what an amazing night. Shelby J was hugging me while singing Brown Skin and then holding the mic to me and some ladies in front with the chant "till the sun comes up". I might also add the Dr. Funkberry is legit and cool. To see another Troubadour show would be nice!!!
Yall have a blessed week. "May U live 2 C the Dawn"

What if Prince and the Ballet were in talks to colaborate on a Billboard's like preformance I loved the Joffey Ballet preformance to his music just thinking of the previous joining of their talents, skills and energies and dreaming about a present day collaboration still takes my breathe away...I used to get the tape at the Library but there is a 2 year waiting list still to get Billboards back and I can't find it anywhere on line...but I digress...thanks for the great report on the After Show...it sounds outstanding! Was it good 4 U?

Ok, so Dr. Funkenberry never fails to give a detailed review, so here's more detailed info on the Troubadour show last week:

That info posted about the aftershow at the Troubadour, etc., is from Drfunkenberry's site so he deserves the credit for keeping fans informed about the most recent concerts, not me really. Now about me posting that hotel/transportation, etc info during the NYC leg of the series, I just know how it is to get lost in a big city, so I thought helping out with directions would make some fans' travel arrangements a bit easier to get here. Appreciate you, as you appreciate me. Thanks. [Edited 5/16/11 10:17am]

So does that mean the Fresno and San Jose shows are not considered a part of the 21 nights in LA?

That article posted came fromDrfunkenberry's site as noted in the thread. The way the info is posted on his site, does appear that those 2 shows are separate from the 21 nights show, but you will have to get that confirmation from someone from the Prince camp or connected to it. I was lucky enough to have been a student at the U of Iowa when the Joffrey and Prince teamed up for the Hancher (U of I)- commissioned Billboards - I was in the audience at the premiere, sitting next to one of the dancer's moms. Prince showed up in a purple limo. It was beyond awesome there in the middle of Iowa City, Iowa. Especially when it changed over from pretty little classic snowflake ballerinas to the hottest pas de deux I'd ever seen on Willing and Able/Gett Off. Blew our little minds. I didn't know the performance had been recorded, and I'm sure I've lost a lot of detail over the years, but all this time later there are still strong images. If you ever find out how to get it, please post!

What a great experiance... ...wow...now that's a Prince experiance! The video is outstanding, try your library. I thought I found a copy on Amazon from Europe but it was not combatable with our system...I was so hurt...but keep hope alive, that we both, and any other Prince fan who has not experianced the joy, beauty, funk, cool and heat of the collaboration can view it, but to be present like you were...Oh My...what a memory...what a gift Congrats and thanks for sharing Was it good 4 U?

Thank you,
It's great to hear that he's jammin' and having fun. That's what he's soooo good at, and only great musicians can.
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Just checked to see if there 's anything on YouTube and there are in fact snippets out there, including the Willing and Able/Gett Off (fragment) segment, which was near the end of the show, and the very hot pas de deux I was talking about, which was to the Question of U, but doesn't look that great on camera. Looks like a few other segments are there if you poke around enough - no DVD, but it's better than nothing! I guess I should stop posting as this is off-topic - just wanted to get the word out if you wanted a fix. Would be so cool if the Joffrey did some of it as an anniversary celebration...it's been almost 20 years.

Thank you that is so cool...I will check it out until I find the old video...and yeah, it would be great if Joffrey Ballet did do an anniversary celebration re-cap...good to hear, I thought they were default...you are so appreciated ! Was it good 4 U?
