What should I have done? Last night I had 2 very good EXTRA $25 tix in Loge 3, Row N, Seat 1 & Loge 3, Row O, Seat 7. I started trying to sell them around 6pm last night & after going thru six friends who couldn't make it so last minute I decided to try to sell them (at face value $25 each) @ The Forum at the Box Office to some random couple waiting in line & COULDN'T so I had to eat the cost. I thought about posting here and I knew it wasn't against the rules as long as I sold them at face value and it was my best bet but I was afraid to list it for several reasons: I didn't know if I should say "1st person to Org Note me gets them" or if I should say "1st person to post gets them." I didn't know what was fair, I didn't want to piss people off (even tho I'm doing that now by saying I had 2 great $25 tix that someone on here might jump at. Also I didn't know how to meet up & if setting the meet up on a Prince Org post was ok, & then I just ran out of time so ate the cost. I guess I should just contact a Prince Org moderator, right. I'm stupid right?

You could have posted on the concert thread or the marketplace thread as long as you sell them at face value. You can sell them to anyone you want, whether via org note or post. I would sell them only to someone who could meet you at the box office with cash in hand--if you were going to be there. Hope this helps. No you're not stupid. I also had an extra ticket for last night's show, a GREAT loge seat and posted here on the Org...only wanted face value, wasn't trying to scalp...and got zero response. Called several friends & fam just to give it to them; no answer, busy, tired, etc. So no, you're not the only one who couldn't give away an invitation to an historic night.
As far as how to do an exchange in the future, be careful of meeting people whom you don't know or haven't met in person before. Also, re-selling of tickets, even at face value, is prohibited on Forum grounds and you will be cited for it if caught by police/security and your tickets confiscated.

I had the exact same situation. Offered it privately to someone here, who actually requested one, but decided not to go. To me, based on last night's performance, it was worth the extra expense. Plus, the vacant seat space gave me some extra "groove room"...
Weird sidebar: Came back from a bathroom run and a young lady was in my seat. After explaining the situation to her, she scooted over into my extra seat. She appeared to be a little...disoriented... Chick didn't get up once! Not even when Stevie came on!! When I split during the "dance party", she was dead asleep!

THANK YOU!! I love this Org. I feel better. Thanks for the info. Those were all the things I was afraid of, meeting unknown people, selling at the Forum, not wanting to set up a meet off grounds. Sorry u had a great Loge u couldn't get rid of.

The $25 ticket is great for fans to bring family & friends and attend multiple nights but I get a sense that it also gives some people just something else to do to occupy their time...like people going to a movie only to talk all the way through it or fall asleep as soon as the lights go down. Cheap form of entertainment.

This goes down as the funniest post I've read in the org. If I ever have an extra ticket, I'm sliding it to you just for the comic relief. HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad I was able to brighten your day.
Now down to business.(clears throat) I view the bolded part above as a written commitment and will be holding you to it or i'll see you in court for BREACH OF CONTRACT!...
Remember, I've got witnesses...

My weird sidebar - like weird ha ha - we got to our great loge aisle seats and there were two 40-to-50-somethings in them, sort of Malibu-dressed and a little aloof. We asked if they were accidentally sitting in our seats, #9 and #10, and they said no, and tried to convince us our seats were in, past them, off the aisle. Gave them the benefit of the doubt until they moved into those inner seats at our insistence (after showing them the numbers were ours)...and another couple came to claim those seats, which were actually theirs! Squatters then moved down to even better seats. No word on whether they talked the owners of those seats out of them.

We had a weird moment too 4/22, some kid (19) was so HIGH on something he looked half dead to me in the middle of the concert. He could barely keep his head up during Purple Rain. Man i've never seen someone so messed up! Why even come. [Edited 5/14/11 18:43pm]

This is exactly why I like GA admission to small forums where everyone stands and everyone is equal. None of this bitching and complaining and you can go where you want to on the floor. Come on now. Don't try to tell me there aren't people jockeying for railing/stage positions. Or the inebriated dude hauling 10 drinks over his head making his way back to the front giving everyone in his path a beer-bath.
I could go on. I've been there...too many times.

Now, I'm just laughing reading this entire thread! But yes, you have witnesses; I think if you ask around, all the orgers that have met me will say I'm good. Name the night and you're in. In fact, you can tell me the section (Loge) you want to sit in and I'll get it for you.

A few shows ago, I had an extra pair. For $25 each, and they turned out to be REALLY good loge seats. (Lucked out via ticketmaster.) Friends didn't want to go (WHAA???) and even someone on craigslist made plans but then flaked at the last minute.
I got in line in the box office and just asked the two people in front of me if they needed tix. THey said yep, so we walked away from the security and did it very discreetly. Sold at face value, and the couple was very very stoked the seats were so good! Everyone won in the end.
So if you end up with extra tickets, I would ask people in the box office line, just be very discreet about it. Oh but now that I think about it - a pair of tickets is probably way easier to sell than a single one -- so maybe my story does not apply here at all.

No you're post totally applies, I had a pair of great Loges & did EXACTLY what u did at the Box Office at LEAST 6 times. It was so awkward & embarrasimg, me& my friend were like mortified, the chicks in the couples would look me up & down like I was crazy. Every body had tix in Will Call. See I knew there were people on the Org who would want them. One young chick, didn't have any cash & wanted me to sell BOTH of them to her for $25 total cause she said $25 each (face value) wasn't a deal! LOGE 3! I just said - ok have fun finding a "deal"! Also me & my friend thought there were undercovers that kept coming by us asking for tix (paranoid?) & after 10 minutes the Police showed up & we turned around & went into the concert& I ate the cost. But my friend ended up giving me $40 total ($25 for the ticket, $10 for parking & $5 for gas) so the whole thing INCLUDING PARKING cost me $70 and I saw Stevie Wonder, Prince's ball sack on the piano (in those White pants, legs splayed, so hilarious & exciting at same time & has provided me & my friend endless jokes & laughs & excitement) & he sang Scandalous & Adore to me from the piano. I would pay $70 for that night & the seats I sat in (LOGE 7! $25) TEN TIMES OVER AND TEN MORE TIMES. One of the best Prince Concerts/Memories of my life.

I believe it's bad karma to scalp bargain tix or freebies. I've given away flat-out freebies (well, barter for a beer) and if the cash flow allows will give discounted ones away. It's really none of the box office's business if you' re not competing with them. They don't know who's in your party.
speaking of everybody winning, i am really irked by the strict no photos rule. I can dig the "no vids" rule, but still photos build up excitement and interest. People see the lights and the stage and the funky people and they will want to go see the show!! test
