Paul is dead...

I read her tweets this morning and I took them to imply that she had time off from performing last night. She was there to enjoy the show.

I spoke to her after the show. She was willing and able to perform last night, just wasn't asked to do so. My impression was that she wanted to, though.

LIV IS STILL VERY MUCH PART OF NPG CREW/BAND. SHE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE FOR A LONG WHILE!!!!!! SHE ENJOYS DOING WHAT SHE DOES.

Wow, I've heard that Prince is making some changes soon, wonder what will happen. I think its time for a change in the band, some parts need to be worked out. But I love Liv! Whatever happens, she will move on to another road, she has an amazing voice! And very sweet. I think Prince is unhappy about something lately....

Prince make a change with his band? Never. He'd never change band members. He's had exactly the same band since at least last week. Maybe time to get a new name for his backing bad. Prince once said that Revoultions only happen once, but somebody else once said how long can power generations be new?

she's a 'problem' for a lot of Prince's fans though....she's too loud and 'in your face' IMHO for Prince's band...she's only marginally better than Tony M in that regard...

But wouldn't the main question be is she a problem for Prince moreso than a problem for fans? She's doing what Prince wants her to do. He runs his own ship, not the fans, and also calls the shots on how he wants each of his band members and his singers to perform on stage. In the promotion of the LA shows on the Africa channel, in the snippet interview with the Twinz, they specifically stated that Prince is involved in every aspect of each band members' role on stage, as well as the preparation of each band member's costumes down to the notch, so if he had a problem with the projection of Shelby J's voice during her performances on stage, I think by now he would have changed the way he wanted her to project it, don't you think?

^ agreed....just gotta wonder what is he thinking sometimes.....personal reasons over professional? Maybe he is happy with her ruining the vibe sometimes...like Tony M....or maybe he doesn't really notice? or care what the 'fans' think...which is all good - its his ship as you say...I wonder if he looks back at the 1990-1992 tours and wonders to himself why in 'jehovahs' name did he let the gang boys anywhere near his stage!

You are coming across as a very ignorant person. Mocking another individual's faith, professionalism and quasi-racist references to "gang boys" is so very unwarranted and not part of what Prince is about in any way, shape or form as evidenced by the diversity within his band and among his fanbase. Please, if your vibe is ruined...by all means, feel free to give your loyalty and support to another artist whose vibe suits your preferences and needs better.

What's the problem with Shelby? I've been to four of the LA shows and I think she's great - as well as Elisa Fiorillo and the other girl.

My only problem is seeing Darryl from the Office at every show, dancing up on stage. Maybe I'm just jealous...

No I think it's just you overanalyzing too much, with some indepth fantasy that you maybe think you can tell him who he should have in his band. You're a fan of his, not his boss. Being a fan doesn't give you a pass on picking and choosing who the man should hire in his band at anytime in his career.

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but no one's forcing you to stay a fan if you're not happy with any band member of his or the music being played at the time. The world of music has a plethora of artists to choose from, so what's stopping you from finding one that fits your exact tastes? I seriously doubt Prince will replace one of his singers because a fan gets on a message board, and complains that they don't like his working relationship with one of his backup singers or how he chooses to give her room to display her talent on stage.
