So do you mean you are coming to the Saturday morning show? There is a Prince concert rounding up al three festival days: Friday July8th, Saturday July 9th and Sunday July 10th. If you are able to come to Rotterdam and to Poland you have invested already quite a lot, you would be a thief of your own wallet when you dont buy a three day ticket for the festival plus additional Prince tickets if you already are going to make it to Rotterdam. The festival organisation mentioned all three Prince concerts are going to be different and Chaka Khan, Larry Graham, Bootsy Collins, Mavis Staples, Candy Dulfer, Janelle Monáe, Esperanza Spalding, Selah Sue & Raphael Saadiq are in the regular line up so guest appearances by Prince are plausible. My advice: skip Poland to save some money for the complete Rotterdam programme. Poland might be a regular festival show, if Prince is scheduled in Rotterdam until 2.45 AM there seems to be no sharp curfew. A three day ticket is for sale now for 209 Euro ex service charge, on Friday you can buy the additional Prince tickets for 40 Euro ex. a day. It is quite an amount but then you can see concerts from 16.30 on Friday and Saturday and from 15.00 on Sunday.

I don't mean to be inhospitable but when the final show ends Monday morning (officially at 1.15 AM but probably later) take a night train to the airport (every hour from Rotterdam to Schiphol, takes about an hour) and catch an early flight home.

I agree. I bet Poland is just going to be a greatest hits show anyway. The NSJF shows are more likely to have a few memorable moments. But if your mother is only able to do the Sat show, then that's just the way it is, right? Plenty of other Prince concerts coming in the future.

As for myself, my plans are to get tickets for one show, preferably the Sunday 1:15am show. I'm not going to spend 300 euro on Prince, fuck that.

Yep, but you have to take a cab to get to Rotterdam Train Station (or ask someone to drive you there)

On the NSJF nights the subway extended its hours of operation til 3:30am, so depending on what time Prince decides to stop playing that's also a possibility.

They leave 2 minutes after each hour all night from Rotterdam. take about 55 minutes to get to Schiphol.

There's also night buses but don't know which would be best. Subway definitely quick if it's still on at that time. And agree about the memorable moments mentioned. There's always musicians appearing at others' sets at NSJF.

Can anyone tell me if there are regular 24 hour trains from Rotterdam to Brusssels, and if there is, what website you would recommomend to get that connecting train? I would be looking to get the train back to Brussels straight after to show and get a 8am Eurostar back to London (sleep on the train!)

I am looking at travelling over on my own from the UK for the Friday or Sunday show. Can get to Schipol cheap, easily and then going to take the train to Rotterdam and head straight back to Schipol by train after the gig on one of the all night trains (great news they are only about £ 20 return and run all night).

The question is whether to go Friday or Sunday. Sunday starts earlier so may go on longer into the night as it would appear by the late start on Friday there is no curfew.

I wonder if Sunday is more likely to be like an aftershow as its closing the festival and his mates will probably all be around after performing. I was at the last aftershow at the O2 and maybe I am expecting a bit much for something remotely similar, but I would be disapointed to travel over for a 90 min half hearted set and would hope he would go for it on the Sunday.

Would people agree that an aftershow at another venue is unlikely in view of the very late start time of all gigs?

Then again, the first night of recent tours seem to have been long and got good reviews.

Any thoughts or is it, as usual, just pot luck depending on Prince's mood?

Don't choose Brussels, no trains during the night and about 2 or 3 three hours from Rotterdam! Easyjet to Schiphol is even cheaper than Eurostar.

Why not the Saturday show? If you invest in travelling and a place to stay why not visit all three Prince concerts and the festival with all the other Prince related acts as well?

You will find the trains from Brussel-Zuid to Rotterdam but I'm afraid there is no train that leaves from Rotterdam to Brussel-Zuid at night. I think the first train that leaves from Rotterdam to Brussel Zuid is at 7.55 am.

In previous years the Maas hall was general access, no allocated seating, you could choose to sit or stand nearer the stage. Did you reach a screen where you could choose between standing or seating tickets?

Yes, I did come to there... There were a lot of other categories too. But this is as far as I managed to get before I was thrown out.
