THANKYOU

I go to shows alone ALL the time... at my age, most of my friends don't go to shows as much as we did in our 20s... AND none of my friends are music heads as much as they used to be--unlike ME!!! SO i go to shows alone regularly. and it's great because at the of the day, the concert experience is about me and the person on stage. but i'm also all for enjoying it with a friend or fellow fan too. i think i've seen prince alone a couple of times, but ironically i'm usually with someone when i see prince.

Yes the 2/7 show at MSG and his Musicology tour back in 2004. None of my friends are Prince fans so I go by myself. But I always run into people I know at the shows so it's fun.

Yes several times and I loved it! When i had a "date" to the show, they weren't Prince fans or didnt seem to get into the music at all. I'll d never bring a non-Prince fan to another show.

I went to two of the Oakland shows in February by myself. Actually, I go to a lot of concerts by myself. Once at the show, you'll talk to the people around you, so it's not like you're really by yourself, you know? Sometimes I miss going with friends, but I'd much rather go alone and have a great time, then go with someone who isn't as into the show as I am.

I flew to Switzerland by myself to see him at Montreux a couple of years ago. I met many nice people from all over Europe, had a fabulous time, and would do it again in a heartbeat!

I went to Los Vegas twice by myself to see Prince. Met so many wonderful people from all over the world, many alone. You will be among friends! Just booked a flight - will be in LA for Thursday and Friday nights' shows - alone - but not really!

I went to three recent W2A shows in NYC/ NJ and I had a blast. I don't like to go to other events alone, but didnt want to miss these opportunities. I admire the people who have flown across the country or to Europe alone. Once the shows start no one even notices anyone but Prince anyway...

Have u had your + sign today?

You should just go alone, you never know whats going to happen.

I ended up going by myself one night (in Oakland) and had not so

sexy seats. I ended up getting upgraded to lower level club seats (4 free)

and then the cute guy in front of me helped me step down into his

dates seat (who couldn't come last min). He ended up buying me drinks

and we sang and danced together for the entire show. SOOO glad that

I went alone, because I almost dident.

I went to Paisley Park last year on my own when Prince did that one off Saturday night for charity.

I flew in from Boston on the Saturday morning drove straight to Paisley Park, then went to First Avenue etc. and back for show at night. Took first flight back to Boston in the morning. Had a GREAT time and met some really nice people. Would def do it again.

I thought I was the only one!!! I've been going to concerts solo for years...friends/family not into the same music I am, easier to score great single seats than pairs or rows...and you don't have to deal with another person's schedule, wants/needs/complaints/etc. When I'm in a relationship it's great to be out on a date with someone...my girl has attended three shows with me thus far on this Forum engagement...but I have no issues riding solo when necessary. I'll be solo Thursday and Saturday this week and with the GF for Friday night...

I have been to about 50 Prince concerts and never went alone. Just for the very first concert I had won the bustrip and the ticket and didn't know anybody, but I made friends in the bus on the way to the show and we went together.

I went to very few other concerts alone in my life. Might be more in the future though :sigh . I very much prefer to go with somebody to going alone. At Prince concerts in the last years it usually seems to be pretty easy to talk to everybody from what I experienced. So I guess you will have a good time.
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I've been to 2 or 3 shows solo. You can really focus on what songs are important to you and you can move up easier. I definitely recommend for the hard core fan.

Hmmmmm!!! I don't know any other die hard Prince fans other than you guys. I wanted to get the VIP $200 table but couldn't find anyone to go with me so I didn't purchase them. They are probably gone now. I haven't checked. sad

Do you guys ever go solo?????

[Edited 5/2/11 20:28pm]

This is the first time in my life that I've been to any musical concert by myself, but I have to admit that I know a lot of people that attend, so I do meet up.

I've been to see Prince 17 times so far and only 3 times have I gone with others.

Lovesexy tour (with 2 friends from high school)

NewPowersoul (took my mom and little brother)

Welcome 2 America 12/29/10 (with my ex-girlfriend)

I actually prefer to go alone. It lets me focus more on the show and less on talking during it! My ex talked all thru Janelle Monae's set because she didn't care for her(well I did). Never again!

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Yup. Out of the 15 or so Prince shows I've seen I say 75% of them were attended solo. I kind of prefer it that way.

I was in VIP for the show on April 23 2011 and I was dissappointed. The bf paid a fortune for them. You just get too see one side of the stage. Our seats were directly behind the piano. I could've reached out and touched him. But like I said, he played with his back to us. I've come to the conclusion that VIP seats for shows in the round are not worth it.

The interesting thing that is happening with this 21 Night Stand in LA is that friends, co-workers, hell even my neighbor, people who know I'm a fan, have invited me to go along with them. I havent' been able to go to all the invites but they are coming back to me with nothing but excitement and awe and respect for Prince. And some of these friends are music snobs too. A girlfriend of mine, who never once showed intereste in him, has already gone three times and I'm going with her this Saturday. My boss went and the next morning we had a one hour "meeting" discussing the show. Some of my 'hipster' friends are going more than once. It's been strange but cool I guess.

I have gone by myself twice. Once was during the ONA theatre tour. I get so wrapped up into Prince that I don't notice who is near me. I can take it all in when I go alone. Plus, I don't many die-hards. I saw a SUV this week with a plate that read "4 Prince", I wanted 2 throw the wild sign at them but I didn't have the nerve. Who knows their Prince may be a child, pet?

Well, Im a Prince virgin. I saw him for the first time here in New York at the Garden. I went January 29th, and got completely turned out. I went back for a second time Febuary 7th, his last concert in New York. I went with my husband and desperately want to fly out to LA, but my husband says he couldn't bare to see Prince again. I am terrified to travel alone and then sit in the VIP section alone. That would just spell loser for me.

I've done the solo thing many a time over the years for Prince shows...there's just no way I'm gonna miss an opportunity to see him if I can and others can't.....

Plus, the older you get, the less "shy and afraid" you become...because you really don't give a f--- what other people think:lol:

It's all about WHAT YOU want so enjoy the experiences while they are here...

I personally have never attended a show by myself however when my friend and I saw him in Oakland this past year we were sitting behind a woman who was at the show alone. We asked her who she was there with and her reply was "Honey, PRINCE is my date tonight!" LMAO!

Ive gone alone several times. People that Ive dated through the years find it hard to believe that I AM going alone. But just like everyone has said " once the music starts" its just a huge party. Besided when Prince takes the stage hes the ONLY 1 I care about for the next few hours. So even if I had some1 w/ me I still would have no clue. Each time Ive gone Ive always made friends. Just went last thursday and was able to get to vip sec and lucky enough to get on stage and dance. Several Prince concerts up close and this was the first time ON STAGE!!!! Im still on my purple high from last Thursday:yay2:
