Did anyone go to Thurs with a Purple Pit GA ticket?
How did it work? Are you given a wristband? Can you leave the GA section and return? If it's a wristband then I assume that's easier than showing your ticket every time, huh?
going to Sat in the LOG but thinking about GA tix for future shows! it's a great idea that was definitely missing in the previous stage setup.
Also does this mean you HAVE to enter thru its own entrance from outside? [Edited 5/6/11 15:59pm]

you show your ticket to access the floor the first time you enter the area and someone gives you a wristband and stamps your ticket. I entered through the regular entry and walked down to the floor. I didn't go into the Forum Club so I can't comment on that part, the floor bathroom is much easier to deal with though.

Those were the tix for the Thursday show that I saw on sale at 7 last night, in other words, minutes before showtime.
As of right now it's 6:30 on Friday, show starts in 1 hour. There are no purple pit tix avail for $25 but there are nice seats in loge 7.
Out of curiosity I checked for tomorrow's Saturday show - only $25 seats offerred are in the colonnade. But there have been ticket drops for almost every show so tomorrow should be no different.

How was it in the pit? Could you get close to the stage at all?

I ended up in the Purple Pit on Saturday, somewhat by surprise, but since the show appeared to be very close to sold out I wasn't being picky.
It was a different experience from being in the loge. It is energizing being on a dance floor that close to the stage. I stood over on the right side behind Morris Hayes - if I have to look at someone's ass all night I could do worse. I was able to see Prince about 3/4 of the time if I was looking for him, and the singers spent a lot of time with us. Sound was good and the atmosphere was festive - it's definitely not overcrowded down there, and if you get there early you can get on the railing just a few feet from the VIP tables.
I'd still rather sit in the loge - we moved up during the encores after some people left & it was much better visually. But the pit it was still enjoyable. For people who'd rather dance than stare at the stage, those are the seats for you. Prince didn't come around our area that much, so it was beneficial to be on the sides where you have an unblocked view of center stage.
