So regardless if The Forum is sold out every night or not for the remainder of these 21 nights, he's probably giving a significant amount of the cashflow he's making from ticket sales to the owners of The Forum. At the show last night (in which I attended), he said something like "thanks for coming out, we're trying to save The Forum", but did not elaborate on what he meant. I believe his residency at The Forum is just another one of his many "quiet" ways to contribute by raising money, and giving back.

The Forum generates money off of concessions, not ticket sales.

Inglewood is not Hollywood. It's a city of Blacks and Mexicans. Kinda like the West Coast version Of DC.

Still. He's (ideally) bringing 20,000 potential customers each night.

I don't know if this sale is still going on, but if so then what is being saved?

The UCLA men's basketball team was planning to play their 2011/2012 season there while Pauley Pavillion gets renovated. When the sale was announced, this didn't fit with the MSG plans.

http://www.laobserved.com/archive/2010/12/madison_square_garden_clo.php

Madison Square Garden is in the process of finalizing its purchase of the Forum in Inglewood from the Faithful Central Bible Church,Billboard.biz reports. An MSG spokesperson confirms: “We have reached an agreement for the option to purchase the LA Forum, subject to due diligence and other conditions.”

I agree 100% that he's doing a great thing for the Forum and the fans, no argument from me. But most intelligent artists don't share ticket sales with venue...and Prince is intelligent.

Ha, I wasn't familiar with how many seats the forum had. Isn't Prince selling out most nights (barring last Thursday's show)?
