Did anybody notice that woman in white at the beginning and end of the show? I've seen her before and why was she going around asking people if they enjoyed the show? I met this person and "she" is the same height and build as Prince. Also sounded her voice sounded a little strange. We talked to her after and she made a comment about the Tambourines being $80 jokingly. I say it was him!

you talked with the tambourine lady....she visits all concerts anywhere..

Hmmm, 17 Days, huh? Almost all of the songs done by this band have been shit, so I almost don't even wanna hear my favorite Prince song of all time done by them, but here's hoping he at least did SOMETHING with it.

As far as the show, having Dr. FunkyNuts broadcast that the tickets were more than half-price right before the show is NOT a good sign. His whole strategy of offering tickets two days before the show is starting to blow up in his face. And, he's quickly finding out this ain't London. 21 nights ain't gonna be same here, baby!

This band shit? Fuck outta here.

Lol! Awww, the truth hurts, doesn't it?!

My brother thinks I'm nuts for going to so many shows but...if you had the chance to see Jimi Hendrix 21 times in his prime before he died, would you have taken it? Eddie Hazel of the original Funkadelic? Donny Hathaway? Miles Davis? Sarah Vaughan? Jaco Pastorius? Randy Rhoads (for you metal guitarists)? I'm going to ride this out with P until the wheels fall off or I get bored, whichever comes first...and I'm nowhere near bored yet. This is a once in a lifetime event...

Preach it! And enjoy the ride!!! biggrin

Man, I'm beginning to think it's unhealthy for me to be on the org. The knowledge of everything I'm missing out on! It hurts sooo sweet!!!

And btw, GLAD to hear that more people showed up, that they had a GOOD time, and I'm SUPER EXCITED to hear that CASSANDRA WILSON was special guest. Would have loved to witness this show!

Revolutionary

"Joy In Repetition", "17 Days", "Partyman".

This is more like the songs I'd like to see & hear performed.

I predict setlists for the next 2 nights to leave people breathless.

I also predict the setlist will only heat up as the residency nears it's final shows.

I only hope "17 Days" will return later in shows at some point.

When he starts playing jams like "Crazy You" "Bambi" "Paisley Park"- THATS when the real fams are gonna lose it.

How about that Revolution reunion?

I agree, too many covers, not enough " '78-'88 " ∞

I still miss Wendy & Lisa 'n Dr. Fink.

I feel exactly the same way!!! To have the chance to see Prince multiple times at those shows right now is an awesome opportunity for everyone there, and no one should miss it!!!! I am excited about it all, and at the same time I feel so bad about not having the chance to go to L.A. now!!!

That is exactly what I'm thinking, too!

When he started it out, he was playing all his well-known hits.

I bet he is getting tired of them, so he is going to start mixing it

up more often. Good for us!!

After BEGGING for news on the next 18 shows... He delivers a whopper! My job demands a 49 hour notice if I call off or I could be terminated!

I checked for Thurs night show anyway!!!! LOL! $25 for section H row 7, WOW!

I did the grownup thing and went to work!

Yesterday morning I checked for my Day/night off (I work late afternoons and evenings)..... Saturday and all I could get EVEN Full fare is Nosebleed seats!

So... my take on all this "he may not hvave the staying power for 21 shows??????" RUBBISH!!!

If you wanna get obscenely close to the guy... go earlier in the week.

If you like me, gotta do the grown-up thing but still like a GREAT party... go on the weekend.

AND Frankly,

Everyone was talking about a long running Las Vegas engagement...

I lived in Vegas, twice. I don't gamble or drink... to get drunk and stupid. that is ( I like to party I just end up being the designated driver! lol).

If you aren't into those MAJOR things in Vegas... you're out of luck.

Los Angeles is a waaaaay better place to have a long term engagement in my opinion because there is more to do. Not just for Him and his crew BUT for his fans from all over the world too.

AND... you can bring your kids for a family vacation!

Where else can you go for a vacation and go to Disneyland, 6 Flags, Knotts Berry Farm, The Wax Museum, Universal Studios, Tour the major studios, Visit Hollywood walk of Fame.. Get a 24hour BABYSITTER and then.... Party like it's 1999?

This pic must have been taken by someone who got there at or before the 7:30pm listed showtime start. Word has gotten out that Prince starts late (after 10pm), stays late (3 hours) and plays multiple encores (fewer people leaving and now waiting for house lights up WITH stage crew on stage before finally leaving).

holy crap, that looks like an awesome setlist, hope he sticks to it!

he's going to have to announce these shows earlier for the out-of-towners or switch to just Fri/Sat like in Vegas.

eta: and PROMOTE them more, not just on billboards in L.A. or on a cable channel that very few people get. also, put some footage up on YouTube since he/they edited out so much of the live footage in the BTS special. it certainly won't hurt attendance and if something good gets uploaded, it could really help.

[Edited 4/28/11 21:44pm]

TOTALLY DISAGREE!! I counted 10 cover songs. I want to hear Prince sing Prince music, not everyone else's. I do like seeing 17 days and Joy in Repetition though. The rest of the setlist does not look appealing though to me. Did Prince not hear what he said on Lopez and how much he despises covers? And HALF of his show is just that. YUK!!

Did you reply to the wrong post?

There was definitely more people. I have pictures, but they are all of Prince. Forgot to get one of the crowd. It was sooooo crazy good last night. The Colonade was empty, but the loge seats was 95% filled and the floor front and back was completely filled. This was my 3rd concert (1 @ Oracle Arena and 2 @ Forum) all differnt shows. This is a must to see and get he word out so I can see more shows. Paid $25 for Loge seats...

And lets remember that he is putting on this round of concerts with barely 48 hours notice from the first concert of the triangle weekend.

Sort of like the Hit N Run tour but on a bigger scale venue wise.

Joy in Repetition and 17 Days were a nice surprise nod and he forgot the lyrics for LRC in the beginning, poor Prince lol

I noticed that, I laughed at him when that happened and my mom was just bobbin her head like oh those are the lyrics. I said outloud, "what did he just say?" then I giggled because he played it off pretty good but when he was singing slow down and making the girls hit that note, some people in my section could not hit that note and omg it was lol he was trying to form a choir or something. But when he did LRC I was very happy to hear that song, but I got up automatically when he did 17 days because I just recently got hooked on that song.Man... wish I could go back on Saturday or something, but I'm just going to wait until next week. Maybe my friends and I can spend a weekend out there and hit his concert on fri and Sat. But that was funny, he did mess up to where I looked fuzzy like.. confuse but I laughed because I know he had alot of thoughts in his head during that time, like when I clapped off beat lol

He had a glitch in the mic. It was cutting in and out. I was watching his mouth and he WAS singing the words, the mic just was glitching. I could actually hear him without the mic. He looked upset about it in his eyes and facial expression. I was sitting right next to Chris Tucker.

I noticed that too. Don't know if it was his mic, guitar or system that keep clipping (overloading), but there were numerous times through out the concert where i kept hearing cut outs and crackling sounds.

Oh man... Mr "look at me being cozy with the stars" doesn't know Roxy Music's "More Than This"? What else to expect from someone who pollutes his Twitter timeline with "now playing" tweets that feature such musical greats as NKOTB.

Haha! You make yourself sound like a jealous, pathetic loser.
