I just looked at it on Google Maps and it looks like an abandoned building with wood replacing all windows, is that the correct one?

Hey Sophie -- that's the one. They obviously don't want tourists peering in the windows, or even knowing about it, it seems. If you go about half a block south on Cherokee and look left, you can see a parking lot (behind an iron gate) with the Sunset Sound sign...
