There is a traffic bulletin of freeway and road closures in LA westside on Thurs. 4/21 because President Obama is coming into town. The 405 South, I-10, Culver City, Santa Monica, Brentwood areas are affected. The last time Obama folks were here, LA traffic was so bad that you didnt reach your destination for 3 hrs+. So if you are going to the concert, please go early or find another route.

Damn. I would probably take La Bea Ave south from Hollywood & stay off the freeways completely. I've done that a few times, it's not bad. Takes a while but it is a straight shot.

Bump in case you missed it... no matter how l long Prince plays it WOULD be possible to miss it with Obama gridlock. In order to ease the problem they're asking Westside residents to please say indoors all day.

Consider taking La Brea Ave from the north or south, or else take Manchester west from the 110 freeway.

so would 5>101>110 be a good alternative route do you think?

If you're coming from the north then just 5 south to 110 south.

If you're coming from the south, see if you can find a way to the 110 that doesn;t make you go all the way north to the 101, then get on 110 south. Because Manchester is a ways south of the 101. And make sure there's a Manchester exit coming from the south - I assume there is but haven't gone that way myself.

You can try google maps & try different freeway combinations that avoid 405 and 10 completely.

I don't have tickets to this weekend's shows but have a great time!!

I'm hoping to make it to one of the later ones though.

I'm no where near any of this and not attending shows at this time.

Slow go on traffic 405 south from Sunset to National.

Okay for out of towners who don't know heads or tails about LA freeway systems or neighborhoods, if one merges from the 73 to 405 would they have a problem?
