I was at the top of the nosebleeds but about half way through the show, one of the staff members asked me (and everyone else in my section) if I wanted to move down and I asked where. He said section 103. So I walk down and I'm 3 rows up from the front of the stage floor and close enough to see his facial expressions!!!

What a great time! I've seen Prince about 10 times and he was having a great time last night and I think the Charlotte crowd showed him some love.

thanks and I'm pleased if that's the case. I'm in danger of getting obsessive on the number of tix sold for this round of the tour!!. Just hate the thought of him coming out to a half empty arena.

I loved the setlist for this show and it all flowed together very well. It truly was packed (95%?) and a LOT of energy in the place. Prince definitely seemed into it and was having a good time. It was nice to hear so many songs from Purple Rain. Too bad he didn't have more encores

For the W2A tour, I've seen the 12/17 NJ show, the 12/18 Madison Square Garden show, the 03/24 Raleigh show and last night's Charlotte show. To me, this was the most musically gifted of all of those shows. He played songs I've never seen him do live before and barely even on any of the hundreds of boots I have. Raleigh was a sexy concert for the ladies, doing a mainly slow jam set. Charlotte had prince doing many guitar solo's and long instrumental jams that I hadn't seen since Rainbow Children times. Shortly after his opening snippet on the piano, he said something along the lines of, "I'm going to play some of my favorite songs tonight. They aren't oldies, because that implies they are no longer good songs anymore." And he play he did! How many of your orgers have ever seen a live version of something in the water? I'm certain the man is on the internet reading and watching stuff daily. If I hadn't heard Meshell N'degeocello perform that song live 2 weeks ago, I don't think anyone could have dreamed that Prince would've pulled that song out the dusty bag of songs we'd die to hear live.

P even corrected alot of the mistakes he had in Raleigh with all of the filler of too many folks on stage wandering around not dancing. I get it, if its celebrities. I understand if he's in the bay area or some city where his fan clubs are massive and knows what to do when they get up on stage (peace bobby, gigi et all), but out here in the carolinas, the folks get up there and follow him around like lemmings. He invited 2 people on stage all night in Charlotte. That was fine by me, because that set the tone for more music jamming, less jamming up the stage. I'm also glad he took out the way too long version of Angel. I love the girls and all, but when your solo cover song is longer than all of the Prince material, we need to change somethng up.

Peace to Anthony Hamilton for doing his thang. I was disappointed the hometown crowd wasnt showing him the love like they do when he is usually the headliner. He had a full brass section with him on stage, which meant for the possibility of some great afterparty later in the night, because we know prince likes to jam with great musicians, especially ones that arent currently touring with him. But alas no afterparty that I know of last night. Still hoping to catch atleast 1 where he performs for these W2A shows that arent exclusive to the celebs. I caught the one in NY that was star studded, but only Larry G got on stage while the house band tore it up. Cmon Shelby J! Demand an afterparty in your hometown!

Well in raleigh we had a thunderstorm/tornado watch and that's another reason why folk cut and ran so fast lol.My drive home was crazy with lightning and all. Tried to get a we love Prince chant started but I had lost my voice and folk were not picking it up! Prince eats that up, so G'boro, do the chant! Looks full in Charlotte! Hope you all had a great time!

As for that chant, yes Prince will eat all that up & do more as time permits him to.

Ppl remember that of all things when going to his concerts. The more u ask for him back the more he will return. Especially when he plays @ Paisley Park, not really a cut off time. .

Thanks for the recap of the concert! Again, I like the setlist. The accoustic version of, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World was a nice choice. If I had the music for that song, maybe I would practice more?
