Yes, my recollection is that Kiss was the only song in the second encore.

That's so cool that you got seats close to the stage. I hope we get that lucky in Greensboro. We are in the 5th row of the upper level.

Where are the VIP and Super VIP seats in relation to the stage?
OP: Congrats on your first show!!! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

They were right next to the stage (the "back" of the stage), where the circular part of the symbol is. At least these were the only tables I saw. There could have been more toward the pointed end of the symbol. [Edited 3/22/11 7:56am]

The crowd was kinda sparse before Mint Condition took stage. I think Columbia holds around 18,000, and when MC took stage, it was less than half full. Luckily, by the time P hit the stage, I'd say it was around 70-75% full. If I had paid $100 and knew that people who bought $20 tix (like me) were getting as good (if not better) seats than I had, I would be pissed!

Thank you for sharing this gemari77. It was heartfelt and well-written.
I'm so glad you had such a fantastic experience.

Were the tickets prices for "good" not VIP seats really $200.00 each? Just trying to plan accordingly as this tour makes its way around the country.

Thank you. I thought I could see them in the pics posted above, but wasn't sure. They look like little circle tables high off the ground. Looks like there's a lot of room to dance!!! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

If you get the chance to see Prince perform live, do it. The concert last night was the best thing I've done for ME in years and he gave me my money's worth. Thank you for a funky time Prince!

He may do a professional book like he did with the 21 Nights tour. I went to 2 performances on that tour and I don't remember seeing a tour book but I did buy the book because it had the CD for the 21 Nights concert which was actually the performance from the after show. I only wanted the CD though and not the book but it was worth it for me. Don't fret for he may do the same thing with this tour. And that was a good price for the concert for I paid more in New York City to see him but the price was about $25 less in New Jersey. I went to both. And yes, I'm nuts but it's worth it as you now know to see him live! Be glad and rejoice for the Lord has done marvelous things!

Still got a Purple Hangover mayne! Feels good! Also my first show and it was everything I expected from the man, but even better actually being there to witness it all firsthand. Really makes up for missing the '04 musicology tour when i had no j-o-b and therefore, no ends lol. That "rush of excitement" didn't really hit me until that 4th "false start" before the band finally made their way to the stage. When dude rose up from the middle of that glyph, the place went nuts!! If i could be any more financially irresponsible, I would pick up another ticket for the charlotte show lol. If you can swing it, see this show people!

My friend and I arrived shortly after Mint Condition started playing and the arena appeared to be approx. 60% full, but when Prince hit the stage capacity appeared to grow to at least 85 to 90% from where I was seated (sect 106 row 6). I loved every minute of it. Prince will be 53 in June and I'm 51. For me, the chance to see my favorite artist perform live for the first time since 1988 was on my bucket list. All was not perfect last night, but it came close enough to make me happy and that's what counts imho. Peace everybody!

my second time seeing prince, i enjoyed it much more than the musicology tour. was very happy with the set list, especially opening with d.m.s.r. and pop life.. my favs!! only thing missing was "do me baby." the look alike guy was pretty entertaining, thought prince was going to throw him off the stage. i wasn't looking foward to seeing mint condition, i would prefer silk. his mic being off for most of the time they were on stage made it even more dreadful. i bought the 20$ tickets which were section 212 row 16... second row from the back wall i believe but ended up in section 107.. a man up top was passing them out, i guess because all the lower level seats weren't sold. very lucky, much better seats!! great show, he kept everyone anticipating and wanting more. wish i could go to alll the carolina shows!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING!!! I'm sure Prince will mix things up a bit before I get to see him in Charlotte on Thurs, but I HOPE NOT!!! What a great list.
ONE QUESTION~ Did Prince stay at the piano for the entire 3rd encore or did he move around for the full songs? I'm on the oposite side of the "symbol", but had I known the piano was on that side...you know I would have tried my best for those seats instead. Can NOT wait until Thurs!!

if anyone was paying attention/there before the show started when they were playing videos from morris day, etc.. there was a video of female, maybe rosie gaines or chaka khan, or at least looked like one of them, not sure of any of the words, it was kind of dark sounding and in black and white.. any one know the song?

Can't remember exactly...was it a slow song? I know they played "Time Waits for No One" by Mavis Staples
