I know, the VIP tables and floor seats aren't rad because you can't see the whole show. But, to have even one song with Prince standing right over you might be worth it. He works the whole stage, but spends most of his time in the key. The music will be amazing no matter what!

Yes, but you were there! Now, after the show, we know P didn't spend much time at the "front" of the stage, did he? I was surprised how much he came around to the "back." I was in the back left corner of the stage, 22 rows up.

It seems like three fourths of the arena is behind him. I hate this stage setup. If you are behind the wings of the stage which most are you are behind the stage. I like the endstage setup much better than this thing

My boss of 12 years includes me in the layoffs the company had, and your boss gives you tickets to see Prince, and you are not happy. Let's trade situations, and see how great your situation is. I'm going to all 6 Carolina shows, and for Columbia, was behind the stage, and the seats were not that bad. Yeah, it is the only one I will be behind the stage, but Prince came by every now and then, could have been much worse.

I agree with you about being glad just to be there. Spectacular show regardless of where seats where. When I sent the message last night I was in a perturbed state because we were basically watching the back of Mint Conditions heads for the opening act. And then, people a few rows up from us starting moving and the rumor was that they complained about the seats and got moved to the front. So then I was like lets try and see what happens. We asked the staff and they said we would have to go to the ticket office and after giving us a little interference they moved us to a section facing the stage about 23 rows up. So in the end we got a great overall view of the whole show which I appreciated but everytime Prince went to the back of the stage to sing or play guitar (about 8-10 times) I was kicking myself going "Why didn't we stay where we were?" Overall I'm glad we moved but I think the seats in the back get a bum rap...Prince did his best to reach all parts of the stage.

For those of you criticizing me about the "ungrateful" nature of my e-mail I completely understand what you might be thinking. Let me clarify.

1) My boss gave me the money for the tickets, not the seats themselves. I was the one who picked the seats. And I was mad because the map that shows the seats in back of the stage was not available when I purchased online so I felt like I got ripped off a little.

2) When I wrote the entry I was in a ticked off mode because I thought we were going to be looking at the back of John Blackwell's head all night. Stage set up was actually much better than I thought and even though I chose to move I would have enjoyed the seats had I stayed.

3) I thanked my boss 400 times for the birthday present.

Sorry if I came off as an ungrateful cabbagehead...I would have been grateful to sit in the parking lot last night if I had to. I just questioned the setup a little bit thats all especially for the money being charged.

It's all good. I was one of those who got an "upgraded" ticket. I didn't complain about my crappy tickets (what did I expect for $20?) to anyone, but as the wife came back into the arena from a bathroom break, there was a guy just handing out upgraded tix. So we went from the rafters (last row at top) to row 22, just left back stage. I would be pissed too if someone who only paid $20 for a ticket (like me) got just as good, if not better seats, than someone who paid $100.
