True, he seems to sing the "Hot-buttered-baby-please-don't-leave-me-right-now" type of soul songs.

falloff Are you serious? No offense, to Fantasia, but i have this image in my mind of Fantasia doing a fake and amateur Patti LaBelle move, screaming like a banshee when she starts singing, kicking her shoes off, rolling around on the stage, then jumping up screaming and running back and forth across the stage, down the stairs, running across the audience, up the balcony, down the stairs again, then back on stage, yelling 500 hallelujahs and lawd have mercys like she's seen the holy ghost. whew

Hmm. I say give him a chance, especially if you love real soul music. I would love to see Anthony Hamilton open for Prince. I love the diversity of the opening acts on this tour! Can't wait for him to come to Chicago (hoping desperately) and see who opens. Although, when it comes to Prince, I would be fine without an opener as well. wink

You are better off with Anthony Hamilton, I just recently seen Fantasia last month and she was horrible! She screamed on every song she butchered Aretha Franklin's Rock Steady,Chaka Khan's Tell Me Something good,Prince's Kiss and Purple Rain. Fantasia seem to think she is Patti Labelle. After going to this concert I now see why the Grammys did not want her for the Aretha Franklin tribute. I won the tickets from the radio station she was so bad , i wouldn't go see her again even if it is free. She had the nerves to tell the audience i quote, " I am going to give you your money's worth tonight and then go home and have good nights sleep. I got my money's worth.. absolutely nothing because it was free!! lol!

From the article:

Charlotte native Anthony Hamilton will perform before Prince at Time Warner Cable Arena in Uptown.

Isn't that cool? Prince is playing in Uptown.
