Tix R 2 expensive!! Not selling well

I think P has priced himself out in the Carolinas. Three days into ticket sales there are still plenty of good seats left. This is not NYC or Cali. I wonder if the promoter will drop the prices? I hope P isn't disappointed if the shows are not sold out. $225 for the lower levels is crazy for the current economy.

I won't be seeing Sade and duranduran for this reason.

I might be able to afford Brian Setzer.

Prices are crazy nowadays.

stoned That's some good shit!

All the cheap tix for Columbia ($20) are gone, but there are still $49 and above tix available (tix went on sale yesterday morning). Looks like may be moving on down to some of those lower seats!

I thought it was pretty cheap, I got the highest tix for the Raliegh show, which were $230 in all. I never been to a concert before, anyone's at that, so I didn't know what to expect. But I was just glad it was under $500, which I was expecting. But I guess, if you have the money, you got it wink

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

So why are you attending since you are ALWAYS negative and bitching and complaining

There's a difference. I love Prince, and I speak the truth. I'm not going to be like "fams," and kiss Prince's ass on everything, and I am not going to be like Bart Van Halen, and tell everyone that every single album since Lovesexy has totally sucked. The only thing I usually complain about is his business practices, or the fact that he let Tony M in his band. (Yes it was 9 billion years ago, and I still cringe at the thought of it.) Since this tour has brought out some of Prince's dumb decisions, I will comment as I see fit. I loved the ONA tour, the fan club, nearly every aspect of it. I sadly thought the 1997-2000 tours were terrible medley ruined shows. Musicology was also a great tour, no compliants about anything from me, but you get my honest opinion from my posts. When I get back from each Carolina show, I may leave a review of each show. I will tell the truth. I'm not going to wimp out and say each and every song was the best live music ever, and I'm not going to say it was the worst ever. I am gonna go to the show, and say whatever the truth is to me.

I'm going to always say how I feel. I think Lotus Flow3r was an awesome release, much much better than most on here think. I rank it in the top 10 of his releases...about #8. But I am not going to lie and say I am happy with a $77 extra small T shirt that I got for the website. I love the album, but the fan club stunk. I can't praise the songs enough, and I can't bitch about how poorly he treated his fans enough. But you will get the TRUTH from how I feel...as an honest fan. This is what a web forum is for, your honest opinions.

Anyone that has read my posts, knows I have very positive opinions about 3121, Planet Earth, Lotus Flow3r, and 20Ten. The only recent release that I am not too happy with is MPLSound, and I don't even bitch about it at all.

Let's see other than being a huge Prince fan with over 1000 cds, vinyl, etc in my collection, and despite having already attended 39 shows in my past(nowhere near the 100 plus others here have been to), and also thinking he's better than U2, The Beatles, James Brown, and Michael Jackson combined, other than that I have no idea why I would want to go. I love Prince.

If you think about it, people who love each other point out faults and complain about each other all the time. Prince went 15 years without talking to his father, and I am sure there are tons of people on this site who have been away from a loved one over something stupid.

Just because I bitch about how awful his business practices are, I still love his music, and since I have recently lost my job of the last 12 years due to this awful economy, I still love Prince enough to have spent a ton of money for tickets.

Yes, I am borderline "Famatic," but I love Prince...but as I pointed out, people on this earth love to bitch at those they love.

I am very thankful for what Prince has done in my life, in regards to joy from the music.

But when he makes a dumb business decision, I have the balls to give my opinion.

This doesn't make it right or wrong, it is just my opinion.

I could really be negative like Bart Van Halen, and have a hissy fit anytime someone forgets the name of the extra who played the Abulance Driver in that short scene in Purple Rain, but I don't...

I'm not going to give Prince a pass on his dumb shit either though...

I refuse to walk through life with happy over positive rosy fucking glasses on. I tell it like I see it.

If you like my opinion great, if not, great.

And you still haven't answered the question, stop bringing up things that are not in question (i.e., you collection, past releases, tony m, etc.)

Yeah this sucks. This is the first Prince tour I can't attend. I just cant afford it these days. I thought about getting the cheaper tickets but I dont really want to sit behind the stage and in the rafters. This is probally Prince's last real tour so I guess I have seen him for the last time. sad

As is every response here is an opinion, I'll add my two cents. When he did the Musicology tour, it was handled and taken care of by a major promotion company-AEG- which has the resources and power to control the prices and extra expenses. As I am noticing right now and having attended two of the recent Oakland concerts, it seems as if this is a self run type of program on his part. Notice that the days scheduled when an arena is available.I'm sure AEG would have access to all the events planned for areans in its network and would plan out a proper tour accordingly. Since it seems Prince is doing it mostly on his own, he takes what is available and goes. The prices of the tickets have to cover all his expenses and hopefully make a profit for him to continue as well as profit for the arenas involved. Also ticket prices are set for market value, making them cheaper because of the poor economy doesn't make sense. It's a privilege to go to a concert, charity is not on his agenda. AS much as you may tolerate him, you're not obligated to attend. Love, peace and hair grease.

The prices are too high, there is no way around that. He is free to price it anyway he wants & he did so that's what we get. I don't like it but it is what it is. Really sucky. I have my tickets & for now I'm happy, he just better perform his money's worth. I know you can do it Prince!

I just spent over $250 for VIP tickets to see Lady Gaga in Dallas, and tickets were selling for $178 each for REAR VIEW of the stage. I haven't seen Prince since his 1998 tour, and I paid around $75 for floor seats, row 14.

He is NOT at the peak of his career...so whether or not you like Lady Gaga, an artist like she is can command those prices. Then again, I would pay the same $250 for VIP tickets to see Prince, simply b/c I have loved his music for years, and he is in a completely different league than Gaga.

"I gave my love, I gave my life, I gave my body and mind..." - P
Thank you for the gifts - we will all meet again, dear Prince.

I'd pay $250 for floor seats to Prince. . but $500. I'm sorry, but I gatta EAT!!!!

I'd have to have a personal show in my basement from him for that kind of $$$.

You do know LIVE NATION is the promoter of this tour? Right? The reason gaga overhead is so high is because of all the other BS she has going on in her show. Like when Madonna tours you dont hear her stans bitching about the ticket prices. Her shows sell out with no problem.
