I just saw this on the GSO coliseum's website:

TRAFFIC ALERT
The Greensboro Coliseum Complex has issued a traffic alert for the Coliseum area for Saturday, March 26 as it will host Prince in concert beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, Greensboro Department of Transportation and Greensboro Police Department advise all patrons to plan to arrive early, and carpooling is strongly encouraged.
The GPD will be managing major intersections in the vicinity of the Coliseum and variable messaging systems will be deployed to advise motorists of parking and traffic information.
Coliseum parking lots will open at 4 p.m.
Patrons are urged to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to the concert start time (7:30 p.m.) if possible. Patrons are also encouraged to utilize the Lee Street parking lot (located at the northeast corner of Lee Street and Coliseum Boulevard) for convenient access to the north end of the Coliseum and post-event exiting.

What time is everyone going to be getting to the coliseum? I live about 15 minutes away, so we were just wondering what time we should leave

I don't have much choice, taking my daughter with me and she is at a thing until 5, then we get to leave Durham... hopefully I miss nothing, but it is good to see that Greensboro is on top of things (unlike when I went to see U2 in Raleigh last year, what a clusterfunk that was.)

I e-mailed them yesterday to see how much parking was going to be but got no reply. Their website says parking runs from $4 to $20, depending on the event.

I'm hoping it's not $20. omfg

I just read this:

NCDOT: Road work may delay Prince fans

Headed to the Prince concert or the airport this weekend? Leave early.

State transportation officials are warning music fans headed to the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday night to leave early due to a closure on I-73 from 10 p.m. tonight through 6 a.m. on Monday. Those headed to the Piedmont Triad International Airport should also allow extra time.

NCDOT will close Northbound I-73 to all traffic between Wendover Avenue and I-40 to make way for the construction of a new bridge at Hornaday Road.

Motorists traveling north on I-73 should take a detour from I-73 to Wendover Avenue. Drivers will take a left on Wendover, and a right on Guilford College Road to I-40 West.
