Floor seating observation I do miss the energy of NPG club members snatching up all the floor seats back in the day. I was surrounded by Purple Rain type fans last night....
You think he would prefer all the DIEHARDS up front (a la Musicology Tour), not rich folk who just dig the old stuff? Just sayin?
still had an amazing time though and the diehards rushed the stage at the encore

I think he would not have a vip circle for sale if that was the case. I could have bought 2 of those seats but we had already paid 300 each for section A. Everyone was into it even the ones who were in vip

I was in A. I know people were into it but not GOING CRAZY the entire show like most diehards.....
Thats just what I noticed.

You kept using the term "die-hards".... Just because people weren't "GOING CRAZY", does that really mean they aren't "die-hard"? Maybe they just enjoyed the music and didn't feel the need to do that. (I don't make a fool of myself to prove I'm enjoying the show.)
There could have been people who consider themselves "die-hard" on every level, but had varying financial situations...
There was a thread yesterday about what a "true fan" is. It's really all about perception. Just sayin'. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

At the Wednesday show, my guest was sitting next to a small thin white kid and his ditzy drunk girlfriend who kept saying, "Can we just leave? Ugh. Can we go now?" etc throughout the show until "Purple Rain" where he finally relented and they left.
Dumb bitch. | |

Yeesh. Brings flashbacks to the only Prince concert I've been to (2003), when I made the mistake of taking along a guy I'd only been going out with for a few weeks.
Granted, he didn't drink, but the energy was about the same. He sat down the entire time, even when everyone else around him was up and dancing and he got straight up to leave the moment Prince left the stage the first time. I managed to convince him to stay until after PR, but something became very apparent to me during that song.
I think he was a little disappointed that he'd taken a girl (sort of) to a Prince concert and the night ended with just a peck on the cheek at my door
From memory the romance lasted about 3 more days.
Next time I go to a Prince concert, I either go alone or with people who I know are fans.

I took my (then) fiance in 2004, and he had the NERVE to say that I showed more enthusiasm at the show than I did when he proposed. We were in the 2nd row, and he stood with his arms folded and a look of on his face the whole time.
I broke my own rule at the 12/15 show and took a date. No comment.

Don't hate. I LOVE Prince, period & I had my fat ass in that VIP section for 3 of his NY shows. Husband came twice & my daughter the third time. I 'treated myself' as for me, it was a chnce of a life time & i ran with it each time.
My advice, spend more time enjoying the Purple Prince & less time envying those with better seats -just saying.

I'm with you on that. I've been a hardcore fan since childhood, in the 80's, and I'll admit to being somewhat obsessed with Prince & his music as its really influenced me throughout my life, but I don't typically go "crazzy"—so to speak—during concerts, I'm just a bit more reserved then others might be, but it doesn't mean I'm not in love & in awe of Prince. I do move around, participate & cheer, but its nothing extreme, I don't like bringing attention to myself too much.
