All of a sudden you blocked your posts and your facebook is now private..

eek

[Edited 2/25/11 22:45pm]

so your on her facebook ,, strange you are not a friend i think it was always private ,, dr. funk has a link you can get it there lol

It wasn't private when I first posted.. I read the wall that went back to September 2010 which stopped for several months and only began posting in January.. and I also saw the one picture that reminded me of my aunt on your wall.. smile when I came back to this thread and saw your response.. I looked back at your facebook wall, the wall disappeared meaning that you changed it to private.. razz No big deal..

[Edited 2/25/11 22:57pm]

Aw... neutral you didn't have to delete all your facebook pictures and all your personal statements on your wall. Hey, I was just curious about you. I find people quite interesting, and I love to figure things out, that's all. But like I said, you really look like my aunty, and sorry I don't have any pictures of her but the picture of you with minimal makeup is the one I was referring to, just like that.

[Edited 2/26/11 18:59pm]

No wall again! neutral All the back and forth privacy setting it to private to public back to private after this thread again shows that it is you. Further proof.

I was outside talking to heartbeatocean, and we heard the song, but it was such a low-key beginning we were saying "is this Prince or the opening act?" but then I recognized the song.

I could not believe he opened with that! Kinda set the tone for a night that was not by the numbers.

With all the noise a certain orger was making asking for that song, someone in the Prince camp if not Prince himself, has to be reading these threads. That's such an odd oldie to pull out for these shows.

The song was actually listed in the tourbooks from the NJ/NYC shows so we thought it would pop up eventually. The only one missing now is FutureSoulSong.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

You are right, I didn't see the song listed at the very end. I guess that's why L4OATheOriginal kept asking for it. Although orgers did request "Anotherloverholenyohead" and "Mountains" which aren't listed in the tour book and Prince eventually played those. Or has he been playing those songs live regularly before the U.S. shows?

Yes, at least since 2009.

Everyone can think what they want- Prince definitely responds to requests but in various ways. I made a custom Paisley Park sign from the original logo, even had it lamintaed so it was glossy- I brought it to an aftershow in Portland,OR at the Roseland Theater & he PLAYED "Paisley Park"! I was holding up the sign like it was swimming through the crowd like a sperm- Now your telling me that he was going to play "Paisley Park" that night and it was coincidence? I have heard many other stories similar to this and yes, this shit happens sometimes, it's not all delusional fan bs.

Sweet. I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna go to a concert and tell everybody who sits on a chair to "gett off" and maybe he'll hear me and play the song. dancing jig

I am a die hard Prince fan and have been since high school. I am 50 years old. I used to have a poster in my room of him in underwear and that trench coat he used to wear back in the day. I can remember going to see him many times including at the Civic Auditorium in SF with the Time. I have seen him before at the Oracle arena, HP in San Jose for the Musicology tour and I watched the simulcast from a theater in Emeryville, CA of his concert in Los Angeles. I have to say that the simulcast even though I wasn't in LA was the best. Shhhh is my favorite song and I a sorry that I missed him last week. I got laid off earlier this month from my job so I couldn't go to the show. Does anyone remember the simulcast from many years ago? Did the Bay Area shows top that? What was he wearing for the Thursday show? I would have loved to hear the Question of U.

"The Love We Make" is certainly a rarity, but it isn't unheard of. He played it less than two years ago (8/16/2009) in Monaco (cf. "Le Petit Prince de Monaco" by Eye Records) and also opened the show with it then. So I wouldn't get too excited about the idea of Prince reading these threads.

That entire stint is Monaco was amazing and should be checked out by all. That said, sounds like Thursday's concert was great, and I'm glad everyone had a good time.

Prince opened the concert in Bergen, Norway last October with "The Love We Make" ... big surprise at the time, and the best version I have ever heard!! I am still listening to it on repeat!!! Later, he also played the song in Antwerp or Arnhem in November. biggrin

Prince in Oakland, Night 3: The White-Suited Spectacle Comes to Its Finale

,

Luminescent in draped white clothes, with jewel-encrusted accessories and slick black hair, Prince splays himself across a purple piano and moans seductively. It could be 1984, but it is 2011. Now 52-years-old, the guitar-virtuoso rock icon looks like a lithe teenager on the Oracle Arena stage.

Last night the purple one played all those juicy hits you've been hearing about all week (he played two sold-out concerts at the Oakland venue Monday and Wednesday). He played "Purple Rain" and the crowd swooned, collectively "ooh-ing" through the end of the song. He rocked "Delirious" and "1999" like he did in Wednesday's set -- jams the Monday crowd sadly missed. One memorable encore -- he played about four in all -- included a hyperactive rendition of "Kiss." He kept waving goodbye, but wouldn't leave for long. The show stretched to midnight.

But whatever night you went, it's hard to imagine a less entertaining show. There was all the concert accoutrement -- lasers, lights, fog, and badass backup singers -- but Prince needs none of it. It's his presence, funky movements, soulful eyes, expert guitar playing; it's Prince, he's the main show, the reason we were there, and the audience never lost its gaze. He promised Oakland he'd be back soon -- until then, majestic one.

http://blogs.sfweekly.com..._3_the.php

I really like this review, especially the part in bold, which I completey agree with!! biggrin

A lot has been said already but I thought I'd add my 2 cents. I went to the show on Mon. and Weds, and as others have said, Weds. was amazing (Mon. was too, but not on the same level). Probably the best concert I've ever been to. A few things:

- For all the reasons to love/ admire/ worship Prince (song writer, guitar virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist, incomparable performer, amazing voice, charisma, dance moves, raw talent, etc.) I most admire his musicianship. The talent level of his muscianship is just simply not human. The fact that this show, much more than Monday's show (with the exception of the Bambi encore, which was unreal) P seemed to be in an instrument playing mode was fantastic. Anyone can learn to play instruments, play notes or licks. But this reminded me, not that it was needed, that this man puts more emotion and heart into his playing than anybody else alive (bar maybe Keith Jarrett on the Piano). Combine that with his technical brilliance, and its just... wow. Simply a musical genius.

- First time I saw Prince was in 2004 at Staples Center in LA. I was absolutely blown away by the fact that in a 20,000 plus seat arena, Prince made it feel so intimate. Made it feel as if he was performing for you personally. This show felt way different at the beginning. He just seemed to be in a musical zone. He barely moved around the stage, didn't really talk to the audience, just 5 tracks in a row of guitar shredding and pure heart. It was as if he was jamming with the band in a studio. It was just truly amazing. I was stunned.

- Was so stoked on the songs we heard that I did not expect but love. The Love We Make, anotherloverholeinyohead, She's Always In My Head, Shhh, Do Me Baby, I Wanna Be Your Lover, Pop Life. If only he would have played Head!

- The Piano set, which I expected on Monday but didn't happen, was just great. As a piano enthusiast, I was in love. It was only 3 songs, but I was so excited. Plus, to have that much energy at the keys after already rocking hard for like 2 1/2 hours was... wow.

- Shocked that people, on both Mon. and Weds, were leaving early. Both nights we stayed until it was for sure over. The last on encore on Weds. the place was more than half empty. He still killed it for those of us who had no place they would have rather been.

Alright, think I let out enough. The show was like 5 days ago and I'm still buzzing. As a musician and performer, the man is simply a treasure to behold. Most talented creative person in the world. Big thanks to the master of music for blessing the bay area with this show. Don't think I'll ever experience anything like it again.
