any kids at the recent gigs?

I am in chicago with my wife and children - hope prince makes his way up here soon - did anyone bring their children to some of the recent concerts, or did anyone see if people brought their children?

I am thinking - is a 10 year old daughter to small/young for the drama?

I would love to take her, if she would like to - but in a place with only drunk adults screaming I don't know...

I saw Prince in Denmark in Herning last year and there I saw some children at the venue...

I went to Monday and Thursday shows and probably saw half a dozen kids under 11 or 10 at each

It's good that there are kids at the show. Showing people my age and under what real music is.

I took my 10 year old son to Wednesday night's show and he absolutely loved it. I purchased ear plugs for him so he could still hear the music but not blow his ear drums (the music is really loud for kids). Anyway, he really loved it. At one point, he just looked around the stadium to watch people hollering / clapping / stomping their feet. I told him we were trying to get Prince to come back out on stage. When he saw Prince come back out he turned to me with a largely surprized look. For the second encore, he joined in on the celebration to get Prince to come back out. It was cute.

Fortunately, we did not see any drunk adults, atleast none that displayed they were. Everyone around us were very cool. They were trippin' off my son being so into the show. He was playin' air guitar and rockin' his head. I was proud of his rythmnic capabilities - he was on point all night!

It's days later, and my son is still singing Prince songs....

Take your daughter, but I would recommend the ear plugs. It's good for our kids to see / hear real music and witness such a musical genius.

I took my 7 year old son to MSG for the 12/29 show. I think I saw at least a dozen kids, so there were probably more than that in the whole place.

Prince said to bring your family, bring your kids...so I did and he had a great time. Fortunately we didn't have any drama to deal with but I do know from others who went that they smelled weed. Fortunately we didn't have that problem nor did we have to deal with drunks.

I took my 8 year old & she LOVED IT. Seeing him live is a chance of a life time thing. Doing it with your baby is a pure blessing.

I took my 13 and my 8 year olds. My 13 year old also saw the Musicology tour when she was 7 and got on stage and danced with Prince!

I'm 17 and I went with my mom to the January 18 and February 7 shows at Madison Square Garden. Amazing time. I didn't see any drunk adults, it was a good atmosphere (besides from the pot smoke drifting through the air).

First concert: January 18, 2011 & then February 7, 2011 at MSG. Best concerts of my life.

I've been taking my kids, now 12 and 16, to see Prince since Musicology. They love him, and the shows are fine for kids imho.

Isn't smoking banned everywhere in the US?

Smoking is banned everywhere in NY. Street included BUT no-ones really tries to stop it on the street...yet!

I was at 3 of the Prince MSG concerts & didn't see anyone smoke but then we had 3rd row seats & security were everywhere. I could however, smell pot all night at the final concert (feb)!!!

We took our 8 and 10 year old daughters and they loved it. We have seen Prince 6 times and they are always asking, "When do WE get to go?" My 10 year old was up and dancing with the rest of them! She said Prince is the best. He is not only a great singer, dancer, performer, but very nice to look at!!! We are major fans in this house!!!! Yes, take your kids. The crowd was very low key, respectful and having a great time.

Nice to see some rich people on the org.

LOL it does not have to do with rich. Sure the $200 is $$ for a concert for a kid..but my daughter likes Prince and alot of other music WE like. I would rather her be exposed to that than the Beiber/Hannah Montana crap that is out there. We don't even know what that is in our house.

She definitely wants to go-I have not brought her as she is just 6...maybe in a couple years when I feel she can stay up later..I tell her it is a school nite.....but as a kid that likes music..I definitely want her to get the influence of Prince....Hope she gets the chance...
