East Coast West Coast for me...

So i live in LA, i am an Aussie, a little mad and a huge fan. I dont mean obese..agh you get the idea...

In Dec i flew to NYC and went to the Prince show there with Larry Graham and Sheila E and in the end i was a little disappoionted as he didn't do a second encore, no if i was your girlfriend, no piano a solo, no how come u don't call, no shes always in my hair.. We got the Sherry Shepard celebrity dance off...yeah the night with Whoopee, Jamie Foxx etc all up there shakin their booties to Love Romance, it was a jam but when it ended i was like common where's my encore? I love the piano solo, sometimes it Snows etc.. So in the end i left a bit disappointed and the concert was actually a little short! Plus i paid for floor seats, VIP and i couldn't see shit. We were right in front of a big ass stage that was so high we couldn't see Prince unless he came to the edge. Anyway....

Now i am going to Oakland tomorrow, thank you Presidents Day. And i this time went for the side raised seats. Section 115. I should have an unobstructed view of the funk. So heres what i would like to see. Larry Graham, slap your bass boy but when your done, stay the hell off. Prince, play a great show, mix it is, not all hits please, surprise me, give me some old school. Maybe some piano action, a nice medley, impromptu. Perhaps dirty mind on piano, wanna be your lover, do me baby, and how about some Anna stesia. How about some sign o the time too, maybe gonna be a beautiful night, forever in my life, the cross and when Sheila comes out give us some erotic city. Go on you know you want it as bad as we do!

Prince surprise us, give us Layout, Sticky Like Glue and maybe some tracks from Montreux...love to hear Mountains, When Doves Cry and The Ladder. And if you feel like a jam, give us some Computer Blue...

See you all at the show. I will be crossing my fingers for all of this and more... Keep Sherry Sheperd away. We don't need a 20 min booty wobble.

It's funny...I flew from Dallas to go to the 12/29 show in NYC and we got the beautiful piano encore that night. LOVED IT!

But everytime I hear about any of the other concerts, I am jealous of one aspect or another.

I was disappointed that I didn't get Sheile E.

I was disappointed that our show ended with Jungle Love (Cyndi Lauper cameo) and the audience dancing on stage, when I wanted it to end with Controversy.

I was really disappointed when I heard that Santana performed on Monday!!!! (How freaking awesome was that??)

I was disappointed that we didn't get to hear When Doves Cry or Adore at my concert.

I guess the moral to my ranting is that we all have personal preferences and favorites. You should be happy that you've had the opportunity to go to 2 amazing shows and just enjoy yourself!

So were you happy with the outcome of the Oakland show? Better than NYC or worse?

I agree with most of what you say.

I'm tired of people talkin' bout that piano medley crap, though. I am so over shows with a break where he plays Insatiable and Do Me Baby and whatever else. Since when was it mandatory P need to sing these songs..

So i am pretty happy with Oakland on Monday. I got Mountains (unexpected), i got Insatiable, Scandalous and a full Adore... I got Sheila, i got Santana and i was actually rurally impressed with Larry G. Uexpected. I think because Oakland is his home town, he really went after it.. He was good... Prince was really mixing it up too, he was in a playful mood, there were some moments in the night that really impressed me. And the end with Bambi and Dreamer really topped it off. He played a lot of guitar solos and really the night was good. I would have been really really happy if i got my piano solo, (yes it's personal preference) but overall i am happy. I got If I Was Your Girlfriend, Controversy, and Prince and Sheilas "bongo drum off" was a lot of fun. It was weird not seeing Let's Go Crazy and 1999, but i am happy all in all....
