Is it too late to request a book?

When I spoke to a vendor tonight, he said that NO tourbooks were printed for these shows.
Me: "Tourbooks?" Vendor: "No. He didn't print any for these shows." Me: "Okay. One Controversy poster please."

Monday night when I asked, the vendor said they had a few but they sold out in about 2 minutes!? I never saw an actual program though. "A woman every day should be thanked, not disrespected, not raped or spanked"

Why the hell is everyone getting completely different stories? Is there a book or not? Does anyone have a California book in hand?

I had close to the same conversation on Monday. The vendor said the tourbooks were supposed to be there, but never showed up. I bought the Controversy poster too, although I was joking with my friend that I was going to buy the tights.

I was the first person in line at the merch table that I went to tonight. He told me they never received any yet, but they are hopeful about tomorrow night. I really don't think they had any on Monday night, since everyone I talked to there said they never received them.
Anyway, if they have them tomorrow night, I will buy them for everyone who has paid me. If they don't have them, then I will refund everyone's money on Friday.

DrFunkenberry started talking about a new version of the tourbook when he posted the new b/w pic on his site. Perhaps he can post an update and let folks know if they r printing a new tourbook 4 the Oakland concerts or not

those could have been the NYC/NJ tour books, if they where actually there, cause the tour books didnt surface until the first NYC date Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Sadly no tour books I't 2:40 in the morning here, so I'm going to bed, and will refund everyone's money tomorrow.
The show got better each night this week. Only disappointment was the rumored after show tonight in San Francisco--I drove there in the pouring rain, and the rumor wasn't true. Oh well, still had 3 fantastic nights with Prince (haha that sounds funny)

I got my tour book $40 before the last show at MSG on 2/7 and the vendor told me that they didn't have many left so I'm happy I have it.
I feel bad that you guys in CA didn't get a chance to buy one. I would be pissed...
Now I have 2 Prince tour books. [Edited 2/25/11 5:36am]

Typical Business practices for Prince. He has a tour book that thousands of people want, and will pay money for, and he can't do something this simple. You could hire a couple of interns at a print shop and get better results. Next time Prince runs out of money, he won't even think about it. Not like the book would make him millions, but if you think about all the stupid business sense he has, and multiply it by each instance, it adds up.
Unrleased recordings rotting in the valut: Money not made...and as each Prince fan gets older, the desire for these go down, and Prince is not bringing in more fans than he is losing due to old age, etc.
Remasters sitting around doing nothing: Physical cd sales are dropping double digits or more every 3 years or so. Prince and Warners are seeing their potential profit on remasters get lower and lower, but both are probably lacking the business sense to know this. The time for this is now...actually the time was probably 2002-2005. U2's remasters were kind of late, and only had decent sales. I doubt Prince could match U2's lower than expected remaster sales...other than Purple Rain, the demand is falling by each day.
Sad, because he still has some money making opportunities. When this dries up, he will just raise ticket prices, and make the money some other way, but in the end, his fans end up losing. Keeping fans happy keeps more fans willing to buy stuff. Sad.
I usually try to end a Prince bashing post on a high note...his music has had such a positive impression on my life, I forgive him in the back of my mind, but it is annoying as hell. [Edited 2/27/11 2:04am]
