What was your opening act and celebrity guest for your welcome to america tour I had Mint Condition, Janelle monae as opening acts and cindy lauper appeared and she sang a note or two in one concert, and cee-lo on opened in another concert (the final concert) with kim kardashian and chris rock made appearance. | |

A lot of us went to all or just about every show, so our answers will all be the same: - Esperanza Spalding - Lala Hathaway - Maceo Parker - Cassandra Wilson - Larry Graham & GCS - Sinbad - Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings - Cee-Lo - Mint Condition - Janelle Monae
At more than one show, the stage was packed with celebrities when he called them up to dance... And there were celebrities in the audience who just observed. For instance, Star Jones was in the row in front of us at the last show, and Ice-T & Coco were there.

I only went to one, but someone was able to let me watch the some of the other opening acts.
Janelle Monae's was hard on the ears but I WAS looking through a crappy camcorder. | |

Oh yeah. To answer your question I went to the last one...uh her name slipped my mind because I didn't know her. Teehee.

Larry graham, Who I have a new found respect for. He was great. And Sinbad. I was smoking in the boys room when sinbad came on. So I don't know what he did. Could care less actually.
I traveled from New Orleans to Ny 2 see Prince, Not all those others. If he comes to New Orleans with an opening act or "Special Guests", or similar setlist I will not be wasting my hard earned money again. [Edited 2/15/11 18:41pm] Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews. | |

December 15th it was Esperanza Spalding and Lalah Hathaway. On February 7th it was Cee-Lo. "You need to laydown and let me show you how we do this thing up in funky town. From the heart of Minnesota here come the purple Yoda guaranteed to bring the dirty new sound! Come on, now!" | |

Chris Rock, Madonna, Ice T, some basketball dude....the list goes on. I only had eyes for one man & was lucky enough to get on stage & stand feet away from him. It was soooo good, i went to two more shows & took my 8 year old. She LOVED every minute of it.
