Well I'm glad I woke up to these great reports, looks like a great set list. Pleased for all that went, can't understand how some fans don't know how to get their groove on at a concert though - since when do you down at a P gig?!eek

There were a good number of people around me who were sitting, but I got up and shook it like it was HOT! They are the ones who look like fools when they just sit there, especially for a song like "Lets Work" Like really? REALLY??!! lol

Hmph! When that Contreversy Bass Line hit....man it was OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please. Do you really think that playing samples or 10 seconds of several songs in a row, the dreaded medley, satisfies us "die-hards"? If anything, it makes me SMH even more. If you're not going to bother to play the damn song, why even bother! Just to tell people, "Remember? I did this song too!"? He's doing his own DAT intro now? Reminds me of the 2007 London shows.

The Twinz again? Yeah. I rest my case on that one. A lot of the same ol' celebrities dancing on stage again? Wow. Great. and, his band STILL sounds like a cover band doing Prince tunes, with no flair or style. They're definitely "capable players", but they're only a smidge better than the group with the Dunhams in it, and that's not saying much. No "sound". No personality or oomph.

"You dont know my music"...and from the sounds of it, you don't know or remember too much of it yourself, Prince. *Morris Day laugh*

Sounds like you weren't at the show to come up with that silliness. And don't speak for the diehards, speak for yourself. You ain't representing me with that foolishness. If you were there, you would have saw that the more snippets he played, the more excited the crowd got. Once it got to "Kiss", the crowd went bananas. Prince obviously remembered his music or else why would he do what he did with it? The band was on point, the twinz did there thing, it was HOT. But why justify this to you? Prince could give you, alexnvrmnd777 the show you've been waiting on for years and you'd still bitch and moan about it. lol Luckily, me and lots of other diehards are still excited about the show. It kicked lots and LOTS of ass and I'm very optimistic that Feb 7th will be more of the same! HA!

Agreed, just reading the reviews alone and seeing the buzz on the internet last night was one of his best shows by far!! and I'm in europe and can tell it was off the hook! biggrin

That was the BEST PRINCE CONCERT EVER OMG!!!!!! biggrin I'm so glad that I decided at the last minute to by a ticket for the 18th show or else I would have really regretted it. I had the time of my life. I was so into the music even more than the last Prince show. He really brought it down at MSG last night...I'm still on a purple high just thinking about it! What was so cool was there was a group of people a row in front of me and we were all rocking out w/ each other giving each other high fives, dancing, and talking through out the concert. It felt like we've known each other for years. I'm so glad that the show was a half hour longer than the 12/29 show. I thought Prince was never going to get off that stage, not that I wanted him to!!! Those four encores...it couldn't get any better than that! I can't wait for the 2/7 show!!!

lol yes, during kiss

can some1 explain to me why he said that? L-word is show about lesbian women, right? So what's the story behind what P said?

He said "Tabatha's Hair Salon" on the 12/18 show, so I doubt he meant anything deep by mentioning the "L Word" Show. Remember he used to mention the show "Dynasty" in that song, but that was back in the 80s;that show no longer exists, and with it being the 2000s, he just mentions current tv shows in the song now, no worries. lol

The Twins looked Xtra Sexy last night.....like they have grown into superfemale Prince Dancers since the last time I saw them in Europe ....

Prince must get a kick of that energy from the two girls ..... they add to Prince show .... I think he needs to use them abit more for large concert shows .....

Not Stage shows but Concert shows....

Could Some One Post Some Pictures Please ....razz razz razz razz

STILL buzzing from that show! Maybe the nasty Minneapolis type winter weather made Him feel at home. Dreamer! Wow. The piano playing during Baby I'm a Star was on point. It'll be hard to top this, but I'll be there on the 7th to see.

Prince sang "ILBIDTYA" to the actress Leighton Meester onstage. I looked at her photo, and she is very-very pretty girl, but she reminds me of Mayte, or I'm wrong?

This sounds amazing! I am so sad and depressed I missed it and will miss the 2/7 show. This sucks!! I can't wait for more dates to be added, after mid Feb. I will have my finances built back up and will be ready for the next show...east coast or west coast, I'm ready!! Can't wait to see pics or vids from this show. That setlist was amazing!! I'm so jealous!

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

I edited my original post and stated 12/18 already. I was also referring to when he made reference to other shows, when he sings/sang "Kiss" during Musicology, the Butter restaurant show and others prior to WTA, but thanks.

I am not ashamed to admit that I am feeling more than a little jealous, but I am glad that you all had a chance to enjoy such a great show last night.

Keep showing Prince love NYC. I am hoping that if he sees how much you are all loving his shows and buying up tickets he will get inspired to take it across country.

Keep the reviews and pictures coming, pretty please with a cherry on top!!

Did anyone else think the audience was sort of dead for the first half of the show?? Or was that just m section... I was going crazy but for the first half of the show I didn't think the audience was very excited... Then they got excited towards the end...??

yes they were dead because prince said it best "do u know my music?" and it proved that a lot don't and only know this cut or that one ..I FUCKING WAS OUT OF MY MIND LAST NIGHT WITH THIS SHOW!!

i will post my review after i read everyone's post

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

OMg what an incredible show. I really really enjoyed it. I went to the 12/29 and thought that was incredible until I was there last night. I feel so fortunate. I hate to compare them but it was unavoidable after a show like that. I wound up going with a friend instead of my husband since he had seen the first one....we were just chilling.....

I have even better tix to the 2/7 and I am super psyched again to go yet in a weird way....almost afraid to go...I hope he keeps this standard up or gives me a show as much as I enjoyed last nights.

I will have 2 extra tix for the 2/7-. I have not yet decided which 2 (I have 4) I am keeping yet but if interested PM me for that.

No need to be jealous anyone we all got great shows and we all got to see a performer we love..no matter how hard core or not a fan one is. smile Consider us all lucky at least we got to go and see him!

Also..a couple people PMed me yesterday about a meetup but I am sorry I Did not see those till today. My assumed I could access it via my friend Iphone but att service was crappy as usual...so I saw nothing on here till today...

Some people in my section were a bit odd but hey everyone is entitled to watch a show anyway they want. We had a good crossmix of people....There are times where I love to sing and dance and there are other times I really like to just watch quietly and carefully listen to the art of music....To each his own...

Maybe I am the only one to think this..but the Twinz. AT first I did not mind them...I enjoyed to watch them.....But I find their dancing a bit distracting and I love dancing. I thought they would be better....NOT COMPLAINING just observing.

I too thought for sure....He must have read this message board..There was not one bad seat in the house. I do wish he still did Beautiful Ones..I still do love that song....I also would like to hear (since I have not heard them live) SEVEN, Diamonds and Pearls, and SOTT....amongst others of course..Still VERY HAPPY....There should be no complainers..smile

Maybe for the 7th. V

ps..I really wanted that tambourine..It was taunting me....But it was $80. Maybe I will cave in but honestly I have spent alot for these shows already....I bought a shirt instead this time..

One other thing I noticed I don't know if anyone else did..on the sides, like section 49, etc right next to the circles (the great seats)...Those seats were unoccupied right up till the time of the start. I kept worrying these were wasted seats as these were what I wanted....

ANyway..I at first thougt this was not going to be a 'great show'.I just was not feeling it from some in the crowd..I thought people may have been mellow too much and for P to not 'feel it'....However, he wanted to bring that house down...You can see he just loved playing with those musicians and had a great time doing it..His energy brought people out to just want him to NOT STOP....What a perfomer man....He is a classic..
