they gave me the rate of $89.99. i stayed one night. also used my AAA discount. i got my print out at checkout and signed.

i just got my credit card statement today and it says they charged me $193.06?! why? of course there is no manager now to fix this and i left a voicemail for a call back. so now let's see how long it takes b4 i get back nearly a $100.

no i'm not a rockstar and didn't trash the room or get room service. it was just a simple rinky dinky below avg room. shit they didn't even have do not disturb signs unless u ask for one.

maybe the econo lodge was nicer? should have stayed in the damn crown plaza but i'm used to getting their rooms 4 super cheap group rate with my conventions i go to....

if prince didn't cancel and credit me back the $180 this would have maxed out my card!

For those that are Goin to the jan show, I stayed at the Embassy Suites by the World trade Center Site for the Dec 18th show.

Nice Clean hotel 19 floors? My room had seperate Living room with sofa sleeper, Wet bar, Fridge, micro wave. The bed room was nice too King bed (extremely comfortable) in room safe. Ask for Hypoallergenic room when making resv.

Free breakfast buffet (eggs, bacon,sausage english muffins, and an omlet station & much more.)

Nightly managers reception Free wine & cocktails & light snacks.

No free wireless but if you ask nicely the front desk will give you a code to get it free.

Oh and it's a short walk from the subway. I think it was bout a 7 min ride to Penn station & MSG.

I only paid 125.00 nt.

I'm glad I changed my reservations to the Econolodge! I was originally going to stay at the Red Roof Inn for the Izod concerts but changed to the Econolodge. Basic clean quiet rooms, no problems, two Queen beds for $99.00 per night. I even got $50.00 off by booking through expedia. Sorry for your troubles with Red Roof, purplemookie...

i left the phone on all day..no call back. voicemail directly to mamanager and # left at front desk...just my luck the idiot has the flu or something? one manager?? bullshit

is corporate open on sundays?

another friend said call the credit card company..but only the 193.06 charge is on there!!! good idea to see if multiple charges are on account and rolled into one...i should see if there is a email to report this to for capital one

Stayed at the Affinia Shelburne in Manhattan. It was 99.00 a night through Travelocity. GREAT hotel!!!!

The funds automatically return to your account after 2-3 business days depending on your bank.

Stop calling them, its protocol.

hotel MANAGER says the only charge they did is 89.57 i need the manager to forward me the bill so i can forward it to capital one

considering 89.57 + 103.49 equals 193.06... uhmmm

they got this amount not counting towards my finance charge...

I used to work for a hotel in sales and this is usually how they do it:

If you checked in with a debit card

1- an authorization was put on your card

2-you are only charged for the one night plus tax (if applicable city, state, county/parish) upon check out

3-Your bank account may show more because of the authoriztion

4- That extra amount isn't usually taken out of your account but is held by your actual bank.

5- The hotel does not take this out just authorizes the bank to hold this amount just in case.

6- The authorization usually falls back in your account with in 7-14 days.

7- If you need it ASAP - my suggestion is to call the hotel to contact your bank to release the hold.

I used to get them calls all the time - that's why I made a sign to keep at the front and would let the guest know upon checking in about how the hotel system works with debit card.

BTW most hotels have an automatic authorization that is done either upon check in (to make sure there's enough money plus) or it's done during audit (night time for next day)

also, some hotels can by pass the authorization - so my suggestion is for next time, to tell the clerk that checks you in - to take out room and tax only right then and there to make sure no authorization is processed.

i didn't use my debit card. the hotel manager is as is baffled by this as me

so the manager just called me and said she figured out what happened. someone the first time typed in my name wrong and charged me for the room for the 14th with the canceled ticket. which i had rescheduled to the 15th being that they retyped my name in correctly the second time.. i did get charged twice and the first time was without the AAA discount!!
