Worst used Prince sentence during performing?
"It's too funky!"
God I hate it when he says that.
Why? Because most of the time he changes the groove or song to something less funky. (Like he did @Werchter and @Arnhem.)
How can something be too funky? Isn't that why you go to a Prince concert?!
I can listen to ballads from a lot of different live artists.
But I need the funk. I want that headbopping, facecrushing, pull up your nose and bite your lip kind of funk!
It's not like I can get it anywhere else!

Erm...what about what other people would like?
Just another selfish Prince fan!

'So many hits, so little time...'
Then why so many Goddamn covers - Time songs excluded obviously!

This the one; think he used it in ONA and 21 Nights concerts. I found it frustrating to hear him say it, and leave the stage within 2 hours.
I understand his game, mainly he was playing 15 snippets of his hits when he said that. But I was hoping for 2,5 hour shows like Bruce Springsteen and U2.
(I am very glad I attended the shows in Antwerp and Arnhem this year, where he played his hits fully and took his time to play, I don't mind the covers though.)
But sticking to the topic : "So many hits, so little time" is the worst one I experienced.

the rubbish about "leaders and followers" during the ONA tour. Cannot remember if this was used during the main show or sound check though

"We're gonna be here all night" during the encore of the first Montreux show in 2009.
This said, the show lasted for less than 10 more minutes and ended 80 minutes after the beginning. Even if it was a great performance, it added to a bitter feeling at the end of such a short one.

This, and that whole family name thing almost turned me off for good.

"Do you believe?" during the preaching of the LoveSexy shows ...

"<Country or City> I am here! Where are you?" If after 30 years of performing you still do not know at what side of the stage the audience is located you'll never learn.
"What's my name!?" Are you serious?
"Thank you, goodnight" - with at least 30 minutes of the main set to follow.

Don;t like his ''Not Bad!..... for a girl!'' comments.
True though he's one of the artists with the most women in his bands. It's just a stupid remark.

"Are you ready?" Err... yes, I've bought my ticket, queued up, waited an eternity for you to come on. Of course I'm ready!!
It's even worse when he says it during the last song... Now, no. I'm not ready to go home. Play more!!! We ain't from Hollywood, so you know it's all good

Something about scalpers,on the ONA tour realy wasnt that nice! Boled heads are al scalpers?!?
Furter he can say was ever he wants!

Yes, I totally agree ie. Better to be a follower as long as he's the leader.
I think the whole ONA tour was designed to allow him to build up enough credits to get out of doorknocking. [Edited 12/3/10 15:51pm] Prince is a musician not a lifestyle.

"i've got so many hits" but yet still plays the same damn songs from the musicology show
"real music by real musicians" yet still using the Linn drum machine
and the crem de la crem
performing on a symbol stage yet not doing songs from the symbol era man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

It's even worse when he stops a (mostly funky) song and says "You ain't ready." Feels like I'm being punished for not being loud enough..

using the "desperate houswives/sex in the city' line during Kiss whats wrong with Dynasty, its not really a sentence but changing the lyrics around ruin the song. Also when he asks for the houselights to be turned on and still no go...what are those lighting guys doin? Not really the worst, but they make me laugh every time:

"Ya better ask somebody!" (if you don't know the words...) I think this was during ONA or Musicology Tour.

Totally agree. The thing I liked about the shows this past weekend is they did not seem political. His message was music and that's it.

Show over at 10:58. MAD about it! Prince esta muerto...

He asks, "What do y'all want me to play?" Then seconds later goes, "Can I play something for me?" [Edited 12/20/10 14:06pm]

This is not exactly a sentence, but I HATE it when Prince says, "Huh?", when he's waiting for the audience to sing part of a song. I guess you could say it's more like a pet peeve of mine. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
