why is it shit? u should know by now i'm not the type that can say everything is golden with prince. i'm not that blind but some choose 2 be and that's fine, but not everyone will be and that's the truth of the matter. just search the org lately, am i the only one that voices this displeasure of his setlist? nope but i will be the most vocal about it ..belive that!!

now will those voices continue 2 be heard and be free from persucution by the fammies on this site that will proudly say that if prince chose 2 get on a stool and eat a bag of fritos for 2 hours and say IT WAS THE BEST CONCERT EVER? nope it will be just the same if he did a show with nothing but new material or material from his past few albums only bitching about HE DIDN'T DO LITTLE RED CORVETTE!!

While I can understand why Prince may choose to keep playing songs from his early hey day, I agree with you L40A, and so would my 7 year old son. There are a bevy of songs he hasn't played in a long time, or ever that I would rather hear than the same old Purple Rain/1999/Around the World In a Day?etc. One of the highest points for us long time fans was hearing the live spin that Prince would put on a song. Nowadays we get the same songs, with the same spin.

Is it shit to say that we would like to hear an extended live version of Laydown (I know this was a hot topic when 20Ten came out) or any of his more recent songs? Don't get mad at the messenger that's not afraid to say what you are really thinking (and wishing).

Prince played Laydown at the Izod.

True, but was it an extended live version, or just the same as the album? From what I recall the same as what was on 20Ten. Also playing it once in comparison to playing other songs at every single show (and that had been played a number of times before) is a sad comparison.

Like I said, I understand why may make the choice to play old stuff, but for fans who have already heard Purple Rain live 20+ times it would be nice to hear some of the newer stuff live. He can't expect people to get to hear and appreciate the new stuff if he doesn't play it. It's not like radio stations are going to play his new stuff.

prime example of how the radio even sticks 2 the tried and true..walked into a dunkin donuts which had the local county radio station on 1999 comes on..how long ago did that song come out? then next they played kelly clarkson's which was fairly new..so they can play kelly's latest but nothing past a 1986 prince song..

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

we did all the critics at one song! i'd faint if he did JIR

Purplemook,

In Vegas at the 3121 club I remember Prince singing "Joy in Repetition" at two shows I attended..

Also, "Beautiful Strange", a bit of "Calhoun square" at Nations Club in DC.. He did "Empty Room" (during soundcheck) at the Empire Ballroom in Vegas back in 2006 as well, He did "Forever in my Life" at Butter's restaurant in 2006. So just to name a few, he's done quite a few different tracks between his 2006-2007 run. Sometime during that time period I believe he also did "Pink Cashmere", but can't remember which show that was. So you never know what he will pull from under his hat at any show. No one expected to hear him sing "Question of U" (using the Gingerbread lyrics), on 12/18 @ MSG, and he did a great job with that one. We shall see.

Actually, he did Forever in My Life & Empty Room during the Europe Tour. So there's a chance he might do those songs in the States as well

And the second and third LA Lotusflow3r shows had some sweet setlists as well. That's almost adding fuel to the fire though. We KNOW he's done all these great songs recently...so why not throw more into the mix on a regular basis?

because "he can't do those songs in a arena cause the casual fan won't be able 2 sing the songs" rolleyes so yet the TRUE fans gets screwed over it would be so interesting 2 see if he did a arena show and did these rare songs we know he has done previously.

Dangit, Prince! See what you done did? I said to myself before seeing 1/18's show that you wasn't gettin' another penny outta my pocket. But, since you tore it up last night, I'm too scared to miss out on 2/7. What to do? what to do? I wonder if one of you nice Orgers will spot me a hundred bucks. lol Promise to pay you back. See Prince...now you got me beggin'. SMH
