Did anyone hear of the Prince Superbowl Party in the DFW area?

My sister said she heard it on the radio today (1/1/11). I haven't heard it for myself, yet. Please let me know if you've heard it too.

Two months back we revisited that magical...nion Arena, a high number in my all-time concert-going Top 10. And, sure, there's no more Reunion, but there's still a Prince Rogers Nelson, and per the announcement that landed in the Unfair Park in-box mere moments ago, he's got a date to play something called "theEvent Tent Complex" on the former arena site at 8 p.m. February 4 -- yet another addition to the ever-growing roster of Super Bowl shindigs.

But ... but ... what is theEvent, you ask? Release the release!

theEvent, is an all-inclusive evening of music and culture with an intimate performance with legendary songwriter, musician, producer, actor and performer - the one and only Prince ... This all-inclusive soiree boasts music, art, food, spirits and more. Along with the rare performance by Prince, entertainment will include music from The Goss-Michael Foundation scholarship winners, guest DJ's, a silent auction, as well as additional special guests to be announced. theEvent will be held in Downtown Dallas at the site formerly known as Reunion Arena on Reunion Boulevard in an exclusive custom designed climate-controlled performance tent.

Once again, this thing ain't cheap: Tickets start -- start! -- at $1,500, which gets you under the tent and to the bar; after that it's $12,000 for a "VIP Nest" six-pack (which includes "admission, reserved lounge style seating for six, dedicated server for drinks and food" and $25,000 for a "Head Table for Ten" (which comes with "plush stage side seating for 10 and dedicated server for food and bottle service"). But the money's going somewhere: Kenny Goss and George Mic...Foundation -- specifically, the scholarships doled ou...l students pursuing a visual-arts education in college.

So, lessee ... Prince is coming to town for the Super Bowl; so too Duran Duran and the Village People. Can Dexy's Midnight Runner's or Adam and the Ants be far behind? Or ... Wham!?
