The same old songs..wasn't he supposed to play new songs? These setlists are a little bit boring.
That is like a very typical Sagittarius comment. The rest of us like to hear all his songs- past and present. Most of those songs bring back alot of good memories to us older fans ages 35 and up.
Heeeey....31 and up! .......Oh-oh-oh, by the way...He plays guitar.

well i'm not a sagitarius i'm a scorpion and the setlist is boring and yes i was at both shows in nyc the balance of present 2 past is lost in his equation for years now. now here is a good memory of those 35 and up which i am, when prince used 2 do a tour and it was more present than past ..now that's a good memory!! here is even a better example, avery fisher hall and the palludium concerts prince has done in NYC ..the palladium was nothing but new, avery fisher hall was a mix of seldom heard old stuff with new material ..oh where or where has that prince gone?
I was at the show on Dec. 29. I expected new songs as well. I don't mind that he did old songs, but the impression that stood out the most was how quickly it all ended. He did a few encores. I didn't leave until the very end.. when the stage was taken apart. Prince played for only 1 hour and 40 min. I was hoping for a longer show where you can really soak in the experience. I was really disappointed that he let his backup musician do the guitar solo for "she's always in my hair" I'd rather him do it, instead.
However, it does leave you wanting to see another show because you know the setlist will change. This won't be the last Prince concert I go to, for sure.

that's why i'm hoping on the 18th that he does more of the songs listed in the tour book that he still hasn't done yet and less of the ones he's already done at every show thus far. the setlist for the 29th was more than half the same he did on the 12/18 man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 |

WHAT ??? Prince has a guitarist playing solos from off the stage ?? Are you sure ? Who is that ?
Or could it be that the keyboards did this solo ? |

it was neither ..it was someone from janelle monae's band that did the solo during she's always in my hair man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 |

i've heard that there is a family connection with maceo somehow but i'm not sure if that is his son. maceo has another son named corey that performs within maceo's band and raps man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 |
