lol The blizzard is just about over and moving away from NYC, and the sun will be coming out later. Now they're just trying to clear out the snow from the streets, airports and railways. It's just very windy today.

LaGuardia airport is not closed, just don't have any flights coming in right now. Manhattan's main streets always gets cleared out first, so I see no reason why the show would be cancelled, unless some of his bandmates can't make it from outside of NYC. The weather report states sunny skies for Tuesday and Wednesday and temperatures will rise into the 30s-40s midweek, and even 48 - 51 degrees on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in NYC. As a matter of fact, New York City does not get as much snow as New Jersey, and often doesn't get snow when NJ does.

all of the airports in the area are closed

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The New York metropolitan area's three major airports will all be closed until 4 p.m. Eastern Monday, according to latest information from the Federal Aviation Authority. John F Kennedy International Airport, Newark International Airport and La Guardia Airport were all closed Sunday evening as the region was battered by a blizzard late Sunday and early Monday.

lol Banks, I think you missed the part in my post where it states "LGA, JFK, and Newark will reopen around 4pm" depending on how successful they are in getting the snow off the runways, and do to wind conditions. As of right now, the snow has stopped falling, just windy, but very sunny.

It's all good. I just stepped out for a few and the winds are treacherous. I've only heard one update on Newark Liberty airport, which is to reopen at 6:00pm, instead of 4:00pm. The snow is waist-high in some parts and quite a few stores/banks in my community are closed. It's a mess, and the plowers haven't been successful in getting the snow off the road well, but they're still trying. I can't wait until the snow is completely gone...and it's only December.lol

I'm sure the show will go on. NYC never closes altho this is the worst storm we've had here in quite some time.

It sure is, and normally we have pretty good weather near the end of the year. Guess we got a surprise this year, but by Friday, the temps will go to 48 and Saturday 51. Go figure.lol

I don't think it's a matter of MSG being open, I think it's whether all the band members , techs who went elsewhere for the holidays can get to NYC as planned. There are lots of ppl who where scheduled to fly home to NYC Monday or Tuesday who don't have a flight until Friday.

I hope everyone gets there safely and it works out fine. wink

Well seeing how it's the 28th, we would have probably heard something by now. Fingers crossed that all are able to make it safely to NYC.

Shocking how badly sanitation responded. Like you, I assumed everything would be good on Monday!

At least the show is not cancelled, and that's a good thing! biggrin Much of the snow is melting and many NYC's main streets are good enough for buses and cars to pass through. The problems are with the rail lines and limited service on many of them, like the LIRR, NJ Transit, Amtrak, to say the least.
