No. Simply enjoy the 80% and save us the complaining from your displeasure with the 20%.

Life is too short to whine about such small things... At the end of the day, you can't pay for 80% of the ticket price....
There were a lot of needy boy-orgers and girl-orgers who went to bed without any live music this past week. sad

Why not follow your own advice? Why are you whining and complaining about my posts?

C'mon now. Set the example.

This is not whining. It is calling you out on your asinine complaints.

BUT since you can't handle that people didn't agree with you, you decided to respond with, "I know you are, but what am I?"

You just like to have the last word don't you? lol

While Prince is enjoying the props and good reviews he's been receiving for the 'Welcome 2 America' shows these negative minded threads will continue to pop up.

Another orger blahblah "talkin' loud and sayin' nothing"

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

May be not the name calling, but I also support the message contained in what "callmesir" said!!

I too would like to see more of Prince and less of the back up singers. While I do like Maceo, I find Shelby J extremely annoying sad

lol I second that. The W2A is a concert series being presented for the general public, not a private concert for a fan who is on some fantasy trip, believing they have the right to pull the strings and tell an artist which musician/artist they should/should not have on stage performing with them or what songs that artiist should sing, just because that fan made the personal choice to purchase a ticket and attend a concert lol News flash!...those type privileges are not attached to the ticket price. The show will go on.

Sorry, but as a ticket buyer, I have the right to tell Prince exactly who to have on stage and what songs he can play. He used to send me forms to fill out and I'd check the appropriate boxes.

Ah, those were the days.

Ah, those were the days.

Delusions of granduer are just that delusions.

You sound like one of those loose screws around here that exaggerate their importance in the Prince world (and the world in general) in their minds. You paid the price of the ticket which includes a performance and nothing more. Prince is not paying you for sexist twocents . While you have a right to state your opinion and desires, it doesn't mean that you have a right to make demands. Nor does it mean that Prince is going to heed to your demands.

It's not your name on the album. It's not your name on the concert tour bill/ticket. It's not your name on the check.

Opinions are like booty! . Everybody has one and most of them stink. No matter what you think or want...Most likely Prince is not getting back together with The Revolution; most likely Prince is not going to open the doors to the vault; and most likely Prince does not know, nor does not care what you opinion is on anything to do with HIS tour.

I enjoyed the show in Jersey last week, but I'm sick of all the "add-ons" Prince throws on stage. Those three singers are talented, but they're unnecessary and annoying. The only good addition was Sheila E., duh!

I just don't get Prince's mindset when he brings in talent that so few people care about. Enough with these broads, Larry, Maceo, etc.

Someone advise this man!

another reason why Prince should stick to his own perspective when it comes to his creative processes

Prince announced who was going to be involved on this tour long before the tickets went on sale.

If you were not feeling the people he's cluttering his stage with then WHY DID YOU BUY A TICKET?

He clearly said Maceo Parker, Larry Graham and the others. They were not thrown in at the last minute as surprise guests!

Because the interest in seeing PRINCE outweighed the drag of seeing everyone else.

then u could always show up late 2 the show so u just see prince ..or stalk him outside of his hotel and just wait 2 see prince only.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Why all the hate?

I loved having the chance to see Lala Hathaway, Maceo, Sheila E., Larry Graham, and Cassandra Wilson. (I got caught in traffic and missed Esperanza Spalding).

They are all wonderful musicians/artists...

For what we paid for the tix, any extra music that we got was a treat. music

(And Shelby, Liv and Elisa have amazing voices. Their harmony was SICK!)

WE SAW PRINCE AND HE PUT ON A HELL OF A SHOW...

You can always make the decision to not pay and stay home.... He'll still play and invite whomever he wants even if you're not there. wink

preach sista!!

AMEN!!

Most people are fans come Post-Purple Rain, and others have this elitist attitude. No wonder Prince gets turned off!

I was at the Dec 18th show and this chick sitting next to my left was more interested in seeing the stars (asking me about Elisabeth Hasselbeck or during "the Beautiful Ones, was Prince married w/ kids?. *Insert side-eye of death right here* my response: look, girlfriend, I paid $200 for these seats, don't ask me anything until this concert is over.)

Needless to say, she had an attitude and I didn't hear from her all night. The couple in front of me, another idiotic moment: they all kissy feely, WTH???!! I had to let them know, can y'all wait tll you get home?

Then you had the people who were in the first row who were sitting down while Prince was singing. WHO DOES THAT? Mind you, these are people in seats where they scored the tickets through their company and they are too "chic" to party, because their bosses/colleagues are there. Uhh, this is your time on a weekend! Are you SERIOUS? THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE KICKED OUT OF THEIR SEATS!

I've come to the realization that people go to concerts to be seen, and are not real fans. I cannot tell you how recently I've seen this, "I'm too cool to party at a concert" attitude I've seen in the past 10 years.

I've been a fan since 1978 at the age of 12. I can name maybe two or three Prince CD's that i was not crazy about, but I WOULD NEVER feel that he owes me anything. Just the pleasure of his music. People change, People grow, people GET OLDER...either way you look at it, Prince STILL GIVE 100% more than most of the performers nowadays.

I'll go see him even if he was in a sequined wheelchair only able to holler 'AWWAH"! I don't care, that's my baby!

Although I agree that some behavior at concerts is annoying (making out incessantly, getting ridiculously drunk, lighting a joint as soon as the lights go down...), I don't think it's fair to require that people have to be on their feet the entire show. You are not less of a fan if you sit...

- Some people don't feel comfortable dancing (and some SHOULD be more self-conscious of their rhythmless twitching lol)

- Others are tired or have an ailment that prevents them from standing. Hell, by the 3rd show, I was exhausted and sat thru a good portion of it. Am I not a fan? Oh, the HELL I'm not. hmph!

lol He had us standing on our feet most of the night last night, so when there was a chance to sit for a minute of two, when he did the piano medley, it was time to rest our feet, but of course he had us up again. So I see what you mean. Doesn't mean just because some folks sit every now and then, doesn't mean they're not into the shows.

LOL this thread is so funny. When someone compliments Prince, they get called a fam. When they express displeasure over something he does, they get insulted and called a whiner. I'm starting to see who the real weirdos are on this site now...

Anyways, to the OP, I understand what you mean. I think everyone on the stage was talented, but mostly quite boring!! I sat through Esperanza's performance, but talked to the folks around me mostly. I just don't get into her. Doesn't take away from her talent. She was super cute, just not someone I'd pay to go see. Same with all his opening acts at the Izod, except Maceo, who I dig. I only managed to see Cassandra when Prince popped up and I heard the screams.

Prince likes these people, so I have come to appreciate them. And I looked at it like this, the opening acts were a little bonus for the price I paid. I can at least say I've seen them before. So to me, that's cool. Especially with Laila Hathaway because I used to like her back in the day.

I've never been a big fan of backup singers, especially where Prince is concerned. I don't like Prince sharing the stage with anyone (other than his band), I want to see him, and him alone. That's just me being honest, its his music that I love and adore, these other people could disappear, and I'd never miss a beat. However, at least Shelby, Liv, and Elise can sing. And at the Izod, they didn't over-do-it, so that's nice. But it would be nice to not have them sometime.

I've learned to just deal with it and accept it, Prince has been doing it for years. Why? I don't know. But maybe its cause he's a big ole sweetheart and likes to give these people a chance. Which is cool, cause alot of musicians aren't that nice or giving. Prince has always shared his stage, which shows he isn't selfish. Wait! Prince just got more awesome(if possible)..WOW! biggrin

Well stated Dahne! I think one of the main points that seems to keep popping up in regards to the opening acts is that it seems to then result in a shorter Prince performance. I am one of those folks who could not care less about these acts. They are probably very talented but they do nothing for me so I could get there late or stay out in the concourse but when it shortens the Prince set that may be what is really bothering people. As far as the backup singers, I have never been a huge fan of them but the footage I saw from the Europe concerts they did seem to be mostly a compliment and not over done. The ongoing love affair with Maceo always baffles me but that is because I prefer Eric Leeds but whatever, nothing to get my panties in too much of a bunch. Happy New Year to all of my fellow orgers

then u could always show up late 2 the show so u just see prince ..or stalk him outside of his hotel and just wait 2 see prince only.

Good idea.

just don't bitch when u miss prince coming on stage early

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
