OK. I think I've discovered something that proves that the account is FAKE.
On 18th December, Prince_Live tweeted a photo showing (supposedly) an empty MSG:

This was followed on 19th December with the following tweet:

If you follow that link to Yfrog, you'll see a photo of a backstage area. We are clearly meant to believe it is the backstage area of MSG for Prince and/or his crew. I downloaded the photo and used TinEye (http://www.tineye.com) to do a reverse image search.
It turns out that the photo of that backstage area was FIRST posted on a blog dedicated to photography (specifically the Leica camera). The shot was taken by Andreas Läsker, manager of a band called Fantastischen Vier. It was taken during one of the band's concerts in Mannheim.

It's the second photo in that blog post, which was made on 12th November 2010.
So: why would an official Prince or LiveNation tweet use an image from somewhere/sometime else and imply it was taken at MSG or during a Prince concert? I think we know: FAKE!

I'm on the fence about this twitter account. Clearly they are in the camp, but some folks think it's not legit, especially since it's not verified.
Anyhoo, sounds like if this IS a legit account some surprises are in store for the next few days before the next show. Wonder what it's gonna be.

Cool. Let's hope if it does happen, that we find out no later than 3pm, since many New Yorkers and Jersyians get off work between 4pm-5pm, and usually in travel on their way home at that time. Not to mention, this is the last, holiday shopping week, and traffic is going to be madness in all 5 boroughs of NYC, so need much time to make last minute changes/plans.
